The girls turning out for volleyball were divided into two under-18 teams, the A and the B team. The season started the second quarter of the first semester and ended with the MSSPP tournament competition at the beginning of the third quarter. Entering the MSSPP tournament competition motivated the B team to work hard. Because the majority of these girls were beginners, they started with the basic skills. Miss Ripley stated, “Although they didn’t win many of their games, they gave their opponents good competition.�
