Making Connections Is Sweeter With Jan’s Hallmark

Eric Tschannen, with Jan’s Hallmark, realizes the pandemic has been hard on people not only because of the reality of COVID-19 effects, but the sheer amount of time spent social distancing and even isolating. Here are some of his thoughts on how connecting with each other remains more important than ever.

MM: What trends are you starting to see in your business?

ET: One of the biggest trends we saw in 2021 was that shoppers were ready to return to stores. Everyone was ready to get out of their houses and start connecting with their communities again. Parallel, and in line with that trend, our customers were sharing more stories about the celebrations they were attending.

Families were finally able to catch up on the backlog of weddings, graduations, baby showers, birthday parties and other get-togethers that we all had to postpone. Those are great trends to see because it’s so important for everyone’s health to have strong connections with family and friends, and that has been more difficult to do these last couple years.

MM: The importance of staying connected has really been emphasized over the last couple of years. What do you have going on at Jan’s that can help us all connect even more in 2022?

ET: This year is going to be a great one. We just introduced a brand new card line called video greetings. Video greeting cards elevate a card recipient’s experience. They get a physical and tangible card, as well as see and hear from their loved ones. Personalized video greetings offer the ability for the sender to seamlessly customize their video by adding their own text, photos or video content, and even combining content from multiple people. We are also reintroducing our “Real Stories” product line featuring Morgan Harper Nichols. This selection features cards and gifts all focused around connecting with our loved ones and offering them messages of appreciation, support, and encouragement.

There’s no need to wait for a difficult time or a special occasion to let your loved ones know you are thinking of them. Our “Just Because” card line offers creative, colorful ways to add some positivity to the world on any given day. And if you aren’t a member of our free rewards program yet, get in and sign up! Each member receives a free card from the “Just Because” every month in 2022!

MM: Those sound like some great additions. What else do you wish more people knew about Jan’s?

ET: Well, right now we are getting ready to make our locally famous chocolate covered strawberries! They are a seasonal favorite that our company has been making for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day for close to 30 years. Producing locally and delivering our product on February 12th, 13th, and 14th ensures our customers are getting the freshest, highest quality chocolate covered strawberries available. It’s a sure way to put a smile on the face of anyone’s Valentine!
