Tantra - The Art of Living Sacredly
~ The Art of Living Sacredly
Have you ever found yourself pondering what this life is all about? Why you are here?

Or felt ~ “ Surely there must be more to life than This !? “
There is a lot of misunderstanding around Tantra & what it is, so I thought I’d write a little piece about it.
This was prompted by a man approaching me in the street later one evening, some weeks ago, with my business google listing open, cajolingly insisting I was open. & so ~ I devote this article to him ! ;-)
(And yes he was reported to the police! I would actively encourage anybody who experiences this kind of thing to do so, as it’s 2021, unacceptable, and really about time our streets were safer & our world was a little more ‘enlightened’.)
We see the confusion, Tantra is often used synonymously to refer to sex-work, or sexual massage. When in fact it’s actually about spiritual awakening; waking up to who we really are; and about unleashing our fullest vibrant potential here in our lives.
The confusion comes from us still living in a largely sex-negative culture & environment, which means that healthy conscious sexuality is not openly discussed or acknowledged without shame, uncomfortability, taboo etc. We all know that our sexuality is one of the most powerful forces, and when driven underground it becomes part of our collective shadow, which drives so much of the awful violations we see, experience and hear about: Rape, abuse, molestations, to more covert behaviours. Even things like body dysmorphia, depression etc can be indirect causes of this social problem.
So WHAT IS Tantra? ~ To talk about Tantra i first have to mention Kundalini energy. Kundalini is a fascinating esoteric term which relates to a (mostly untapped) pool of source energy that lies within each and every one of us. It is symbolised by the image of a coiled, sleeping serpent which lies at the base of our spines, around our lower chakras. Our sexuality is just a part of the potential of this life-force energy. In most of us this powerful potential energy Tantra is actually an ancient path that comprises of many practices and tools, such as:
Yoga, Breathwork, Ecstatic Dance; Meditation; Sacred-sexuality; Sound-work; Bodywork; Emotional Catharsis; Ritual; Inner-work, etc.
All of which help us to clear out all the gunk, conditioning, blockages, past wounds, emotional blockages etc, that weigh down our nervous-systems and limit our natural brilliance. They help us to liberate our own life-force energy; to awaken this sleeping serpent of Kundalini, and to realise more of who we truly are, & what we are capable of.
Awakening this energy is at the heart of all mystic states & paths. It can lead to:
● Expanded, alternate states of consciousness ● Reconnection to ourselves, to nature, to divinity, to the cosmos ● Experiencing states of bliss, profound love and interconnectedness with life ● Powerful creativity ● Mental brilliance and awakening our inner genius ● Unlimited pleasure ● Vitality, energy, radiance, magnetism ● True power, confidence, beauty, glow and self-love
3 ways to start implementing this in your life? Awaken your senses:
1 - Slooow down: Take just 1 minute, eat something delicious and really taste every flavour and every texture, fully.
2 - Go for a slow walk, feel the air on your skin, notice each sensation as your feet touch the earth.
3 - Use the Q: ‘How can I find pleasure in this?’ - In every act you can, from washing up to showering, to doing something mundane you’d ordinarily hate.

Over the last two years we have seen changes to the ways that GCSE grades were arrived at. The grades for this year in August were done by teacher assessment based on students’ performances throughout the GCSE course work and backed up by academic evidence. Working hard and cramming for the exams or mocks exam grades wasn’t enough!
These changes may continue or alter once again, but what is very clear is that students need to demonstrate their full potential and ability levels on the GCSE course consistently and show good progress throughout the 2 years.
Without a grade 4 or above in maths and English the following routes in life are effectively closed to your child…
University degree courses, Degree apprenticeships, Practical apprenticeships and many better paid jobs. All these require a minimum of a grade 4 in both maths and English. We have seen significant grade inflation this year as a result of the changes. In all future options open to your child, competition is increasing. So what has this to do with Kip? Our track
record in GCSE grade improvement is exceptional but more importantly we can improve the performance of our students in maths and English almost immediately by removing some of the barriers they have found in their learning. It may be a particular maths topic or not being very good at answering questions or essays in English. If your child is starting GCSEs this year, and they are at risk of not achieving more than a grade 4, then call us now and ensure their future options remain open. Or it may be that they want to achieve the grade 8 or 9 that puts them firmly onto the next step in their education. One student came to us 6 years ago needing a grade 4 in maths (a C grade in those days!) to go onto a practical apprenticeship. He worked with us and achieved his grade 4, completed the apprenticeship and is now working in a company and being fast tracked to take on more responsibility and salary. He is now saving for a house. All of this was possible because he got a grade 4. Without it he would have struggled. You can bet he puts a high value on his grade 4 as it has set him up for life!
So if your child is embarking on GCSEs this year, put a value on their future and give them the start they want in life: OPTIONS TO CHOOSE WHAT THEY WANT TO DO! Call Jo on: 01629 56611
