An hour from Halifax you’ll find our Agricultural Campus, located in Truro. A place where local industry meets global innovation, Truro is a growing and community-focused town. On campus you’ll find a working farm and almost 1,000 acres of research fields, gardens, and greenhouses.
Off campus you’ll find nine recreational parks, including Victoria Park, the Cobequid Trail, and Bay of Fundy, and popular spots such as the Truro Farmer’s Market, Truro Raceway, Marigold Cultural Centre, Rath Eastlink Community Centre, and more. Popular day trips include Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse and Village, Annapolis Valley, and Halifax.
Dalhousie University operates in the unceded territories of the Mi’kmaw, Wolastoqey, and Peskotomuhkati Peoples. These sovereign nations hold inherent rights as the original peoples of these lands, and we each carry collective obligations under the Peace and Friendship Treaties. Where access meets opportunity
TRURO START PROGRAM
Complete the first year of your degree on the Truro Campus and the remainder of your studies in Halifax, giving you an opportunity to join a smaller group of classmates with dedicated resources and support to build a strong foundation for your university experience.
Currently available for Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Applied Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Science (Recreation)/Bachelor of Management (Combined). Learn more at dal.ca/truro-start.
Truro Start students who are new, direct-from-high school (domestic or international) and have a complete
residence application on file by the deadline are guaranteed a room in residence for both their first year in Truro and second year in Halifax. Learn more at dal.ca/residence.
INDIGENOUS STUDENT ACCESS PATHWAY
The Indigenous Student Access Pathway is a one-year program at Dalhousie’s Agricultural Campus. This pathway program is for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students who would not otherwise be eligible for admissions under Dalhousie’s current minimum high school prerequisites. This pathway offers dedicated support while transitioning to a university environment. Learn more at dal.ca/isap.

Admission to programs is often competitive; meeting the minimum averages noted below does not guarantee admission. Visit dal.ca/high-school-requirements for specific course requirements.
* The Faculty of Agriculture Engineering program constitutes the first two years of the Bachelor of Engineering Degree. Subsequent years are completed at Dalhousie’s Sexton Campus in Halifax. Applicants of the Bachelor of Engineering who do not have the appropriate Math class may be admitted with the requirement that they take the relevant non-credit introductory class prior to registering in the degree-level class.
** Students applying to the Bachelor of Science (Agriculture), Bachelor of Science (Bioveterinary Science) or Pre-Veterinary Medicine programs in the Faculty of Agriculture who do not have the appropriate Math class may be admitted with the requirement that they take non-credit preparatory Math prior to registering in the degree-level class.

Where residence living... ...meets student life
Staying in residence is an easy and convenient choice. Live with new friends just a short walk from your classes. Your full accommodation and meals are included in your fees. Residence buildings have secured entrances along with staffed front desks. Community Assistants, professional residence staff, and security are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Dal Food Services takes pride in supporting those with allergies, intolerances and special diets as much as possible. Look for labels for halal, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairyfree, and locally sourced.
