/ Scott SPECHT
Scott SPECHT is the founder and principal of Specht Architects, an architecture, design, property development, and research firm. His award-winning work features residential, commercial, and universitybased projects, including the Carpenter, an environmentally sustainable adaptive re-use of a former union hall; the Preston Hollow Residence, a 2020 Record Houses award winner; and the Sangre de Cristo House, which recently received the Harnar Award for Contemporary Architecture. Specht’s body of work over the last twenty-five years has received multiple awards from the AIA, TxA, the Architectural League and many other professional groups. The studio’s designs were featured at the Museum of Modern Art, with press features in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Architectural Record, Architecture, Architectural Digest, Praxis, Interior Design, Residential Architect, Metropolis, and Texas Architect. Prior to founding Specht Architects, Scott was part of Studio Daniel Libeskind, Deborah Berke Architect, and Kohn Pedersen Fox. Scott teaches and has been a featured speaker for leading conferences and academic forums. Scott’s book, Coffee Lids, has received acclaim for its take on the design of “unseen objects” that populate our lives. His newest project, the Stealth House, is a prototype for a completely new idea of single-family living in the U.S. Spechtarchitects
