Since our founding in 1924, we have made teaching the Bible our highest priority. That’s why students in our ministry master’s degrees take eight classes that cover all 66 books of the Bible.

Our Graduates We have more than 15,000 alumni serving in more than 100 nations spanning the globe. They are missionaries, pastors, educators, parachurch leaders, Bible translators, journalists, counselors, and servants of the Lord Jesus.

Graduate Stories Janet Pope’s ministry helps women think biblically in today’s culture. She has memorized over 120 chapters of Scripture (including fourteen books of the Bible), published books, and spoken at numerous events, helping women tackle difficult issues such as tension in relationships, destructive habits, and overwhelming obligations. Dr. Frank Glover is an internationally recognized urologist, earning both his MD and his Doctor of Public Health in International Health from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Last year he was awarded Physician of the Year by the National Medical Association. His goal now is to build a medical school in Liberia to train resident doctors.

Our Faculty Not only are our faculty known for their competence as biblical scholars, teachers, and communicators, but they are also Spirit-led people of God who sustain a personal interest in their students. Our resident and adjunct faculty collectively hold over 225 graduate degrees from universities and seminaries around the world.

Profs teach overseas
Darrell Bock (PhD, University of Aberdeen) has authored over thirty books. He serves as host of the seminary’s Table Podcast, is a consulting editor for Christianity Today, and serves on the boards of Wheaton College and Chosen People Ministries. He has also been a New York Times best-selling author in nonfiction. Sandra Glahn (PhD, University of Texas at Dallas) serves as editor-in-chief of the seminary’s award-winning DTS Magazine. A number of Dr. Glahn’s nineteen books relate to bioethics, sexuality, and reproductive technologies. She has also traveled the world as a conference speaker, retreat speaker, and journalist. Rodney Orr (PhD, University of Edinburgh) served with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) for 34 years, 17 of which were overseas. He taught at the Nairobi International School of Theology in Kenya and, serving as executive director, helped build Africa Leadership and Management Academy (ALMA), a graduate school in Zimbabwe.

Professional Ministry Degrees Master of Theology (ThM)
120 Hours
This degree is designed to produce competent Bible expositors who are qualified to serve God effectively as pastors, missionaries, or leaders in other areas of vocational Christian ministry. MA in Biblical Counseling (MABC)
90 Hours
You’ll be prepared to engage in church or private counseling practices, and this accredited program enables you to apply for licensure in Texas. MA in Christian Education (MACE)
65 Hours
If you desire to serve in student, adult, or children’s ministry, this program will prepare you for a variety of teaching positions. MA in Christian Leadership (MACL) 62 Hours Continue making disciples in your current ministry while learning to appraise leadership needs and gain biblical and theological depth. MA in Cross-cultural Ministries (MACM) 64 Hours If God has called you to serve in other cultures, you’ll get to learn from veteran missionaries and meet the requirements of most missions agencies. MA in Media Arts & Worship (MAMW) 67 Hours This program combines biblical and theological education with the opportunity to specialize in areas such as visual presentation, writing, and worship.

General Academic Programs MA (Biblical Exegesis & Linguistics) (MABEL) 62 Hours Offered jointly with the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics, this degree will prepare you to be a Bible translator for unreached people groups. MA (Christian Studies) (MACS) 62 Hours This degree is ideal for Christian workers who wish to be trained without leaving their workplace or home countries. (Offered in Chinese or English) Master of Biblical & Theological Studies (MBTS) 36 Hours This degree is designed for business professionals and laypersons who desire to be equipped to serve in the workforce, at home, and in the church. Certificate of Graduate Studies (CGS)

This certificate offers an introduction to seminary coursework for laypersons in the church and can be transferred into a full degree program. (Offered in Chinese or English) Master of Sacred Theology (STM) 32 Hours This provides advanced training in theological disciplines for those who have already graduated with a standard Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent.

Online The same professors, the same content: get the DTS experience right where you are. We offer three fully online programs. You can also complete up to 2/3 of each professional ministry degree online in a hybrid format.
Campuses & Locations Our original, historical campus is located near downtown Dallas, Texas. We also have extension sites in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Knoxville, San Antonio, Tampa, and Washington, DC, and offer occasional courses in Colorado Springs, Fargo, Nashville, Pittsburgh, and New Zealand. Each location features courses taught by professors from the Dallas and Houston campuses.

Housing & Campus We offer affordable housing in our two apartment buildings on campus: Washington Hall (with 89 apartments for single students) and Swiss Tower (with 159 apartments for married students). Find all of the theological resources you need at Turpin Library, home to over 318,000 books, journals, and publications. On the lower level, Mosher Media Center provides computers, printers, scanners, laminators, and rental media equipment. Need a bite to eat or a cup of joe? Stop by Mitchell Dining Commons or HOPE Coffee, located by the Book Center.
