Tc Ra IRC Colour rendering, which is how colours, illuminated by an artificial light source, look. Measured in Ra, it is 100 only for incandescent and halogen lamps: most of the LEDs in the catalogue offer a Ra equal to 80, able to satisfy the majority of lighting needs. The Reflector line is characterized by Ra>90, for high-level lighting needs.

Special care is given to the design of heat-dissipating systems. The light flow and rated lifespan of the LED (i.e. chip) can only be obtained by designing a lamp that allows its users to comply with temperature parameters required by that specific LED (i.e. the junction temperature or measured Tc). By streamlining thermal management, the potential of each component is enhanced, but above all the brightness and the stated lifespan become feasible.

The LEDs, intended as the main component constituting a lamp, are produced in large quantities by a few manufacturers in the world. The LEDs of a certain type of “white” (warm white or cool white) and part of the same production batch can show even remarkable variations in colour. Duralamp has fine-tuned a method to select LED color that is based on the real coordinates of each color that follow the curve of the black body. This makes the various types of white uniform and consistent in the several types of LED lamps and independently of the chip’s manufacturer. This means that a decorative Hot Light Lamp will have the same shade of white of a Hot Light MR16 or PAR38. More specifically, lamps of the PLUS band stay within the 4 McAdam steps, PRO and TOP lamps in the 3 McAdam steps. A nice advantage, capable of reaping the most also from lighting design projects of the highest level.

DURASTRIP is a LED strip made with SMD technology, intended to have the best use flexibility. Thanks to the important luminous emission, DURASTRIP can be used in projects where a linear and even LED lighting must be provided, to highlight the architectural components and reliefs of the ambient. Ideal for indoors and outdoors and also immersed thanks to the IP68 protection rating.

APPLICATIONS: ACCENT LIGHTING cove lighting, emphasizing architectural or furnishing details. FUNCTIONAL LIGHTING under-shelf/under-cabinet, wardrobe interior lighting. GENERAL LIGHTING hallways, bathrooms, path marking, etc...

DURASTRIP  Packaged in 5 m rolls.  Excellent luminous efficiency and an emission able to replace fluorescence in most applications, with the additional benefit of versatility.  The IP68 and IP20 ranges can also be used underwater.  Silicone sheath: ideal to adapt to curved profiles.  Choice of colour temperatures. CTC Total White allows you to choose the white "colour" and change it at any time from warm to cold. IP68. It can be interfaced with home automation systems for managing colour temperature. Use DALI ZKCDA or DMX ZKCDMX to vary the Total White colour temperature continuously and obtain all intermediate temperatures. It can be used also with light sensors.

DALI INTERFACE

DMX512, which abbreviation is DMX (Digital MultipleX), is a communication protocol mainly used to control lighting (even LED type), from computers or control units. It is normally used to control coloured lighted or white lighted appliances (RGB) with variable temperature. Thanks to the high transmission speed of the data, the DMX allows making dynamic and even complex sceneries. A DMX network consists in 512 channels; the number of appliances that can be controlled cannot be defined beforehand, as it depends on how many DMX channels each appliance uses. E.g., if every appliance of the DMX network uses 3 DMX channels, the network can contain 170 appliances.

The 1-10V luminous intensity control system runs with analog technology: 1 corresponds to 0% and 10 to 100% of the lamp emission. The intensity can be adjusted by using the linear curve or logarithmic curve and it is the simplest system to install. The connection is carried out by 2 polarity wires placed between the power supply and controller. It can be used with active or passive control systems.

The DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a digital protocol interfacing with the power supplies. It is widely used in the lighting field as it provides visible benefits compared to the 1-10V analog control technology (it is essentially a flexible, digital control that allows addressing the single appliances). The DALI protocol allows defining appliance units and managing the lighting sceneries, to create the right lighting of an ambient according to its use. Different lighting sceneries can be configured and enabled using a simple key, without involving the system wiring. The DALI protocol is more simple and economic compared to the integrated management systems of a building (building management). A DALI network can control up to 64 appliances/ lamps.

Installations that use fluorescent tubes for general lighting are extremely popular. In Europe, the standard powder fluorescent tubes have been replaced by the more efficient triphosphor tubes. Today, the LED tubes provide an interesting alternative to the triphosphor ones. As they are more reliable, they can replace the fluorescent tubes; they reduce maintenance costs of the system, thanks to longer periods between re-lamping interventions. Moreover, they are the most innovative product able to meet improving and modernization requirements of installations (also the existing ones), ensuring energy saving and compatible development (mercury free).
