VELETAS PALACE | 2017 Location: Caseres, Spain Studio: Sensitive Environments (Bachelor´s project) The main goal of the project was to achieve an intervention that succeeds in placing value to the building, giving it a new purpose that adapts to the current needs of the city and at the same time preserves its identity, largely preserving the original construction. The underground cister is cataloged as world heritage, and the “Casa de los Caballos” building serves as the city´s musem since 1914; therefore, the project needed to pay special attention to the original fabric of the building.

COMPLEX 19|09 | 2018 Location: Mexico City, Mexico Studio: Emergent Generative Codes (Bachelor´s project) The complex is situated in one of the most damaged areas by the earthquake of September 19th, was looking to have a comprehensive architectural program designed for victims. The master plan was carried out as a team, while each space was carried out individually. The brief asked to cover different aspects, like health, housing, physical activity, recreation and a memorial. As a team, we opted for a space where the comunity could heal after the catastrophe. The analysis was based on interviews with those affected and people living near the area.

Our goal was to provide spaces where people felt identified and could have their own resilience process, where they could feel companion during that process. The concept behind 19 09 was KINTSUGI (golden repair), it was our mission to take this terrible event, and turn it into something special, where lives could be remembered and treasured, where we culd create community.

Common hub: The common hub proposes an open floor plan where various activities take place, and the design emerges from the Oryx’s horns giving the illusion of an ascendant spiral. Within 200 sqm, the architectural program comprises a lobby, cafeteria, lounge area, terrace, restrooms and storage room, this last one being independent from the mail building to provide easier accessibility for the staff. It is located strategically in the centre of the project to act as the main connector between the lodges. The lattice functions as a divisor among the different areas, while maintaining the sense of amplitude, and the high ceiling benefits the air circulation.

ST. GABRIEL CONVENT | 2020 Location: Cholula, Mexico Studio: Conservation Technology (Master´s project) The objective was to analyse the building´s pathologies and propose a suitable solution while preserving the original fabric. The analysis investigates and forms recommendations for the holistic treatment of the existing situation. The Convent has a typical 16th -century Mexican convent layout oriented to the west. The main church has a one nave basilican floor plan with a polygonal apse; it is surrounded by quadrangular masonry angle buttresses and has a battlement parapet that gives a fortress look.
