About Me
I can easily combine different materials into a harmonious object. My approach is a creative reinterpretation of the subject and extension of the functionality. Results are often single objects that respond to multiple tasks. My passion for cars and boats expresses itself in the attention i give to shape styling and technical details

Renovation of an Artist’s House
Finalized 2015 The well known romanian sculptor used this house as his workshop. Simple lines and gestures are characterizing his work and are the main guidelines for the design. The new owner agreed to a design that keeps the feeling and the memory of the artist. The presence of massive wood timber and natural materials like travertine are reminding us of the former workshop atmosphere, but give the functionality of a modern house. Every piece of furniture is custom designed with this idea in mind, and so with simple cuts and lines it gives the new home the necessary functionality for comfortable living, meeting the owner's requirements. ROLE: design and construction supervisor with assisting help from Adrian Barsan, Sara Fontana, Marta Benedetti.
Offices and Industrial Space
Under construction 2016 Project characterised by its transversal section which is extruded to give its final shape. The building has an inclined southern roof with optimal angle for installation of solar power panels and with the surface designed for maximum number of panels respecting the urbanistic heights and limits. The northern facade of the building has large surfaces of translucid finishing for letting as much natural light as possible for the main space but also for the offices. ROLE: design, final drafting Alex Marosanu.
Car shelter and deposit
Under construction 2016 A separate building in the former sculptor's workshop villa. It closes a one-level height difference of terrain. The walls are doubled with depositing spaces and the rear end of the space is a working space, being lit by natural light from above. The roof is all green, using the plants to hide the structural massiveness of the eight meter concrete beam, leaving visible only the thickness of the slab. The furniture is integrated in the design, creating a sculptural shape that seems to float above the space. ROLE: design, render, 3d and final drafting Alex Marosanu.

Transformable Sofa
The client wanted a big livingroom sofa, but he also wanted free space to be able to organize public evenings. The sofa that transforms in a buffet was the answer. Beam like steel structure for the fixed part and a mobile solid wood base are connected throught a pivot. The mobile wood part turns easily and hides under the void of the steel part opening. Different sofa parts are used to make the table two separate pieces use the shape of the sofas backrest to gain the height of a table when put upside down. Turning panels and sliding support makes the buffet table function possible. The operation can be done withouth any tools, by one person. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.
Sofa with Coffee Table
The client needed a bed in the office room for occasionally guests. The office asked for an elegant sofa and a coffee table. The idea is that the sofa-bed uses the little table as structure for the rotating half of the bed but also hides it when not used. Steel structure base and upper all lightweight sponge covered in fabric makes this sofa-bed a very simple construction resulting a full size bed. Minimal design due to 4 and 6 mm. welded steel sheet structure. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.
Cantilever Desk
Metal structure covered in wood panels. The desk is not fixed to the floor but the cantilever it is possible with stabilization with counterbalanced weights inside. Natural oiled oak and white painted metal sheets finishes the exterior. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.
Bedroom Bench
The client requested a sitting area in the main bedroom, although the dimensions of the room are quite small. This compact bench has a lifting top which gives access inside it. The steel base is designed to give the impression of lightness, having just one leg visible and balanced by the half white steel frame. ROLE: design, construction supervision.
Bar Stools
Designed with the idea of 'He and She', these bar stools are inspired by the massive wood pieces that were once located in the sculptor's workshop. The straight cuts that open an elliptical shaped section are remembering of timber cuts. The rounded shapes of the steel foot rest and the smaller upper wood part is the more feminine design. The other is designed to look heavier and more ruff, with more rectangular shapes. They are a functional metaphor for the sculptures that once were produced here. ROLE: design, construction supervision.
Stool and Chair for Terrace
Inspired by the shape of the lap of the local famouse sculptures made by the artist. Two bended metal sheets are joined by the wheel hiding teak wood box. Folding sheet chair prototype is designed for exterior use. Two sheets of metal plates are bended in shape and welded together. The flexibility of the metal gives a comfortable reaction from the chair when sited .This prototype is finished with a clear protective paint. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.
Metal TV Stand
Minimal tv stand structure in painted steel is cross shaped leg structure give impression of floating. The solid oak wood detailing has the role of counter balance the structure. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.
Expandable Table
The wish of having a big family dinner table on the terrace which can turn into a normal sized one, was the client's demand. The thin steel in relation to the massive wood answered the needs for this request. It gives seating from 6 to 14 persons just by sliding the teak wood part outside the white metal part of the table. A vertical steel structure welded underneath the table top gives structural rigidity, but also guides the wood part of the table when maneuvered. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.
Floating Bed
Wooden "L" shaped wall panel with tasters make the side table function and backrest. The sockets are hidden by a panel and the small opening permits its rise. Steel structure holds the bed without being visible. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.
Main Front Pedestrian Gate
"C" shaped vertical stone plated element holds the other two wooden beams like an anchor. The metal blades have different roles: structural for the gate and as a handle for the mail-box. Integrated in the wooden beam, the mail-box is only visible by its covering and its handles. The massive wood composition beneath is a reminder of the sculptor's former house, but is also used as a safety measure, by closing the parapet. The shapes of the wood pieces inside are designed to receive sculptures on top. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.

In relation with the kitchen, the bar is composed of a massive wooden beam, standing on a steel structure. The intended metaphor is that of a cutting tool: the lower part is shaped with an inclined plane surface, like a support; the sliding panel that closes the kitchen has an angle-cut corner suggesting a cutting blade; the panel slides into the wooden bar beam, that continues on the other side of the panel, "cutting it" when closed. The inclination of the lower wooden support part continues in a "Z" shape, making for a book holder, but also giving rhythm to the moving panel. ROLE: design, construction supervisor.
