Introduction
A background in forestry, wetland restoration, and trail construction has given me a strong understanding of the technical aspects in the built and natural landscape. Through the lens of Landscape Architecture, these environments become enriched with a sense of place, creating desirable qualities for both humans and other species. My design approach focuses on the integration of ecology and human program. Increasing awareness and desire for these multifunctional landscapes makes this an exciting time to design landscapes and influence our cultural values. I am looking forward to creating well used and well loved places where people can coexist with, benefit from, and care for our surrounding ecology.

Re-Creating+Recreating course: LARC598 - Graduate Design Project
overview: The District of Squamish prides itself as the Outdoor Recreational Capital of Canada, creating a unique interface between the landscape and built environment. Brennan Park, being the heart of this recreation center, currently struggles with the balance of sports facilities and salmon habitat. This project uses the design of riparian buffers as a framework for program layout, that emphasizes the importance of protecting salmon and educating the park users. This project strengthens the identity of Brennan Park, a place where ecology and recreation co-exist to engage and inspire.
site: Brennan Park, Squamish, BC 200 acres
instructors: Douglas Paterson, Patrick Mooney

IJ Amsterdam course: LARC510D - Overhoeks: Creating a Complete, Sustainable Community
overview: On the cusp of economic and climatic uncertainty, the urban fabric of Amsterdam Noord requires a flexible and resilient landscape. Collaboration with architects and planners resulted in a holistic waterfront experience, well connected to the interior residential developments. This proposal for the Overhoeks site development facilitates flooding, multifunctional sites, and density without compromising cultural identity.
