Batten down for a concert devoted to the Northern Chamber Orchestra’s outstanding wind section, at e King's School, Maccles eld on 1st April. Directed by John Roberts, ‘Winds Unleashed’ features Mozart’s Serenade for 13 Winds (the ‘Gran Partita’), without question a masterpiece for wind ensemble, together with Joachim Ra ’s Sinfonietta for Winds (1873) and Ruth Gipps’ Seascape (1958), a short re ection on the sounds of the sea.
