Honoring Allied Armed Forces who participated in the 1944 Normandy, France invasion. Bedford was chosen for the site because of its solemn distinction as the community sustaining the highest per capita loss of lives during the invasion. Open


Spectacular views are available 9-4:30 Tuesday thru Saturday, and 1-4:30 on Sundays except for selected holidays. No reservations are needed for families or individuals. Thomas Jefferson’s K Poplar Forest

This octagonal home was designed and built by Thomas Jefferson as his personal retreat. Visitor’s are allowed the unique experience of seeing the restoration of the home’s interior and wing as well as archaeology in progress. Open April-November daily (except Tuesdays & Thanksgiving) 10 am - 4 pm, with hands-on activities available in the summer. Special events throughout the season, including Independence Day.
