The site is in the junction of Xiaolongkan Road and East Shapingba Road. This area is crowded with residence, office buildings and a high school, but there is no public places for recreation and gatherings. It is 2 km away from the business center of the district, where exists tree cinemas but none of them is independent. Two different parts are designed in the cinema.The recreation part contains restaurants, stores, coffee shops and a big lobby. This part of architecture is covered with a special glass skin, which looks like a crystal under sunlight.

Separated Functions, Connected Activities One large screenning room (374 seats), one medium screenning room (170 seats) and four small screenning rooms (103 seats) are contained in the solid part of the architecture. In order to build a reasonable transportation system, the screenning rooms are put together, connected with the stores and other public functions in entrance layers of the screenning rooms. A significant space to organize these functions methodically is the big atrium. You can see the ecalators and stairs right in the atrium and recognize the way to arrive the place you want no matter which floor it is. Skip-floors are designed to offer higher space for special space, such as the lobby and the restaurant on the top floor.

Curtain Wall Section Perspective
Big ones are designed in the area of public space, relatively private spaces are covered with small ones. Three different sorts of glazing panes, convex, concave, flat ones are distributed on the curtain wall according to the interior function as well as the of the exterior appearance.
The scene behind the wall will be disorted by convex, concave, flat glazing panes which make up the curtain wall. All of them have different effect towards light, and the effect from inside out is different from that from outside in.
Plenty of Sunlight Featured Atrium Space The elegant glass skin which is open to the city makes the architecture friendly to the public. Standing at the entrance of the building on xiaolongkan road, you can see the scene on East Shapingba Road shaped by the polygonal vacants of the architectural skin all the way through the atrium.

Xiaolongkan Road
Open Entrance Of The Building From Xiaolongkan Road, we can see a conspicuous entrance to the building. The atrium is a middle space between screenning rooms and recreation area. This random space has various facilities, including coffee pavilion, seating areas , nearby washroom and artificial lighting for night use. People who are not willing to watch a movie or consume of any kind can still come by and spend their time here.

MAKE A CONNECTION BETWEEN PEDESTRIANS AND THE RIVERSIDE LANDSCAPE There is a 25-meter height difference between the south and the north. A riverside park and a city square in the lower level of the site, while the upper level is connected with some office buildings in the city. No convenient access for pedestrians exists from the upper level to the park, square and riverside footpaths which are supposed to be public destinations for people My design also acts like an addition to the public places lacking area. Apart from office function ,to combine commercial functions like restaurants and shops and cultural functions like small theatre and library is the feature of the design.

Tall Space For Art Gallery In the 9th floor,a lofty space is designed to display sculptures and paintings, where people can relax and appreciate art works.
Various Functions For The Public Little theatre, restaurants, gym, library, offices, etc are designed in this place. In the complex of height difference, four entrances in different levels make it available for people to get to the place they want.

PUJIANG SALES CENTER Professional Work, 09 2013- 07 2014 Location: Shanghai, China My Role: Concept, Produced Renderings, Detail Drawings and Construction Feedback
DESIGN AN ELEGANT SPOT FOR PUJIANG SALES CENTER The site beside the Friendship River is located in a vast riverside landscape. How to modify the view for interior sight and how the surroundings imfluence the building are important.When you look at the architecture, what you see is actually the overlay effect of architecture itself, the figure of inside and the light it reflects. Creating a two-layer skin responding to the light is the feature of my design, aiming to achieve a complex effect of modifying the whole environment on both inside and outside view.

From Inside Out, Interior Scene The white vertical stripes glazing under sunlight plays an significant role in creating the peaceful and comfortable atmosphere inside the architecture. The view is also partly modifyed by the outside skin of building.

Space Analysis In Jinbi community,there are several forms of courtyards,the relationship between house, courtyard and the lane is plentiful.
House of An Old Solitary Man The house is big and the depth is large with an extra part built on stiltsand, There is a downstairs courtyard.This is a typical layout in that area.This house experienced a renovation four years ago but it is still in poor construction condition.The living environment is poor but it is near the fenghuang river,so the view is good. assessment: large area,poor construction quality,close to nature location
House of A Three-Member Family It has three floors and good view on remote mountains in the second and third floor.This recently built house has poor ventilation and lighting condition but a good quality of construction.The first floor is open to the lane with a function of car repair store and the upward floors are for living. Assessment: good quality of construction,good view,multi function.

Connected Roof For Growing Vegetables And Flowers Contractors are in charge with their own vegetable fields and flower beds. They can also keep an eye on their field when then are at home. The harvested vegetables and flowers can be sold on the designing commercial street.

THE DARNALL FOOD HUB IN SHEFFIELD Individual Academic Work, November 2018- May 2019 Location: Sheffield, UK
A Food Hub for the Community The project offers the community a chance to see, learn, grow, cook, eat and celebrate food in a lovely environment. It grows food and encourages the community to grow food in their own garden with hydroponics system. It aims to encourage a better lifestyle to reduce human activities’ pressure on climate change. To best use the richness in nature, the project created internal and external spaces that interact with the canal. Most of the ground is freed up for nature. A lifted multifunctional external space could engage with different groups of the community with various activities.
Sectional Perspective
The Hydroponics Greenhouse Ready for harvest once a month, the products growing in the hydroponics greenhouse will be cooked into healthy diet, which will be consumed on site. The fruits and vegetables could also be sold on the external food market on site. The greenhouse is on top of the building, people pass by would observe products growing and be attracted to the food festival held every two months.
