Danger Dogs from Nepal – Folk Art from the Himalayas

Manoj

Manoj is from the Lakeside district of the resort town of Pokhara. He was recommended by a local motorcycle mechanic for his prowess with gas tank art. Indeed, I more often see him riding around town with his motorcycle than in his shop. He puts a glow around his Danger Dogs, and uses a palette of pastels that is his alone. He is part of a group of Lakeside artists that would sit around and compare their Danger Dogs. Good for me as this competition fostered good art. His brother is a well-known musician in the area, and also paints. His earlier work is signed M. Arts, and it was only after much cajoling that he began to sign his own name.
