2015 Santiago de Cali, Colombia. Family House 80 sqm 1st Innovation 2nd Sustainability 2nd Comfort Conditions CALI SITUATION 2nd House Functioning The proposal proposes a high density of houses that are developed in four blocks grouped in pairs of two. The main objective of the urban design is to encourage the user to be outdoors, which is why large corridors were created for a good, fluid and comfortable circulation in order to be places not only transit, but also recreation. The house works like a house inside another. This is achieved by generating external skin which allows the house to be thermally MONTEVIDEOan SITUATION isolated from the outside environment, creating a microclimate between the external walls of the house and the skin that covers it, such as between the roof and the roof. SymbCity House. -------------------------------------------------------Solar Decathlon Europe 2014 contestant. YEAR LOCATION PROGRAME SIZE AWARDS

DESCRIPTION

2014 Versalles, France Family House 160 sqm 4th Communication and Social Awareness 4th Comfort Conditions 3rd Energy Efficiency Intervention in a residential zone of Madrid with a deficient level of construction. The sale of the additional urban land from the roofs of the buildings helps to finance a global rehabilitation operation of the building, thus creating a mutual benefit between (existing) “Host” dwellings and “new” Guest houses. The new homes will be buildings of almost zero energy consumption, while the houses of the host buildings will get at least an energy certification B. The SymbCity House project proposes an independent wooden structure to the existing building on the outside. The generated structural system expands the existing houses by growing them 1 meter towards the exterior, increasing the surface of the house and creating an air chamber thanks to the new facade, where it can store heat, reducing the consumption of heating in winter.

MASTER THESIS PROJECT ---------------------------------------PROJECTS

Ecovillage in Torrecuadradilla (Guadalajara). -------------------------------------------------------Final Degree Project - University of Alcalá YEAR LOCATION PROGRAME CALIFICATION DESCRIPTION

2014 Torrecuadradilla, Guadalajara, Spain. Ecovillage 9/10 The transformation of a town almost unhabitated in Guadalajara (Spain), in a self-sufficient ecovillage with the capacity to generate sufficient resources to maintain a constant population over time, thus avoiding the total disappearance of the population. This intervention will be carried out through 9 different interventions, 6 of which are ‘‘plug-in devices’’ and three types of housing. The plug-in devices are designed to achieve self-sufficiency of ecovillagers, each of them is specialized in the production of a resource. The three new types of housing are designed to meet the housing needs of the new ecovillagers and provide new spaces to process honey inside the town. The proposal will be carried out in different stages, each stage has a duration of 15 years, a sufficient but necessary time to fully acquire the knowledge, experience and skills necessary to move on to the next stage. Each stage will be marked by a specific program and by a specific constructive system and responds to the social and demographic characteristics of the ecovillage at that precise moment.
