Yoga a word derived from Sanskrit, which is an ancient Indian language. Yuj is a term that denotes yoking, as in a team of oxen. It is now characterized as a unity of body, mind, and soul in modern words. Yoga is an ancient Indian physical, mental, and spiritual discipline. It is a state in which a person's soul is equal to the world spirit. It is a 5,000-year-old body of knowledge that just rose to prominence in the twentieth century. Many people believe that yoga incorporates the awkward twisting and turning of the body. While stretching and other forms of physical training are obviously important, yoga is primarily about achieving body balance via strength and flexibility development.
