Jordan was born in New York, he was the fourth out of five kids, and he soon moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where he lived out the rest of his childhood. He attended Emsley Laney High School were he participated in different sports like baseball, football and

basketball. When he tried out for the basketball team he did not get chosen because of his height, and from there he worked hard to prove that he was worthy of being part of the team.
After a very successful season as a senior, averaging 27 points and 12 rebounds per game, and on top of that being elected to play in the McDonald's All American Game. Jordan Went to attend to the Univerty of North Carolina.
In college he performed excellently, averaging 13.4 points per game. He played so well he was named the ACC Freshman of the Year. During the rest of his years in college, Jordan averaged 17.7 points per game, and even won the Naismith award in 1984. After that Jordan left to enter the NBA draft.

NBA DEBUT In the 1984 NBA Draft, Jordan was the third overall pick and he was selected by the Chicago Bulls. In his rookie season he averaged 28.2 points per game, he quickly got the attention of fans from all other teams. This lead him to be that season's Rookie of the Year. During that season he would go on to play in the Playoffs where he was defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks in four games.

THE SHOT One of the moments that show Jordan's greatness in basketball is 'The Shot'. As it happened in the 1989 Eastern Conference First Round, the Chicago Bulls vs the Cleveland Cavaliers. There were 3 seconds left on the clock with the score at 100-99, Jordan was doubleteamed by Craig Ehlo and Larry Nance, he cut to both sides to get space for the inbound pass. He got to the free throw line and shot the ball over Craig Ehlo and won the game for the Chicago Bulls 101-100.
