Useful facts • The Welsh population in total is 3,000,000 (3 million) in comparison with the population of London which is 10,000,000 (10 million). • Cardiff is the Welsh capital city. • Welsh is a compulsory school subject until the age of 16. • Welsh is also spoken in Patagonia, South America. • Wales is the only country to have a complete coastal path.

Cofiwch Treweryn – Remember Treweryn • 1965 – the English flooded a valley in Wales to provide the city of Liverpool with water.
Llanfairpwllgwingyllgogerychwyrndrobwlllla ndysiliogogogoch • Phonetically: Llan-vire-pooll-guin-gill-go-ger-u-queern-drobooll-llandus-ilio-gogo-goch • It translates as; The Church of St Mary in the hollow of the white hazel near the rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio near a red cave.
