012 005 LETTER TO THE CHURCH
Because we as a church believe it is better to give than to receive, Destiny Harvest has given away over $250,000 in the past five years. This investment has gone towards planting churches across the United States and the world, assisting in times of crisis like the 2016 floods in Houston and Baton Rouge, partnering with local organizations like the Howard County Police Department and being a blessing to children in the foster care system. All this in just five years! There is no way these pages can properly articulate all God has done, but our prayer is that as you read them you would give God glory for all He has done! What gets us the most excited is that this is just the beginning. If God was able to do all this in five short years, imagine what the next five holds. In a community of faith where people are passionate about pursuing God, fulfilling destiny, and impacting our city there is no limit to what God can do. As we pause to reflect, let us also activate our faith knowing that our best days are ahead of us as a church. Pastor Zai and I could not be more honored to lead you in this great move of God. We love you, we believe in you, and we know the best is yet still to come. LOVE,
PASTORS STEPHEN & ZAI
DESTINY HARVEST CHURCH +++ YEAR 5
Ephesians 3:20 declares, “Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us…”. No truer words could be spoken as we reflect on all that God has done through Destiny Harvest in the past five years! My wife and I are dumbfounded as we pause and remember fifty people who dared to believe God for something extraordinary which has now resulted in hundreds of families who have encountered God, found peace and purpose, and are pursuing their God-given destiny. In just five years we have seen 2,361 people make a decision to pursue God with all their heart and 474 people take the next step in water baptism. These are not just numbers but each number represents a story, a family, a destiny that is now filled with hope. Marriages have been strengthened, dreams rekindled, and passion for God stirred in our community.

DESTINY HARVEST CHURCH +++ YEAR 5
JAY KNIGHT I thought I knew who God was. I gave my life to Christ at eight years old because I would hear sermons in church and thought, “Nobody wants to go to hell, right?” Though I’d try to be a good Christian and do good things, I never really understood God’s grace. My parents divorced when I was two years old and because of that, I grew up bitter and angry. I always expected healing from that but when God didn’t heal me right away, I would rebel against Him and go through long periods of not praying. I even went through some phases of life that I didn’t have to go through because of the hurt that I was carrying. The turning point in my life was when I started coming to Destiny Harvest. My favorite part was during praise and worship when we sang songs to God. I felt like I was a part of God’s choir because I could hear everyone around me belting out the songs; even behind me. My biggest hurdle was getting over my ego, but worship was so uplifting that I decided to sit up front and raise my hands. Lifting my hands meant surrender. Before really understanding God’s grace, I lived with so much guilt. When I recommitted my life to Christ, I realized that He was with me through everything. He was waiting on me to get to a point where I was ready to surrender and receive His healing His way. I don’t live my life with guilt anymore. Now, I live by the Tree of Life, Jesus, and I feel God’s presence every day.

JIDE IGUN Before coming to Destiny Harvest, my life was unfulfilling and incomplete. I didn’t know how to really build on my relationship with God. Even though I called myself a Christian, I still felt that I didn’t understand what being a Christian meant. My thoughts on life were based on trying to figure out what true purpose God had for me and how I could walk in that purpose. I thought that I could achieve that understanding by merely attending church every Sunday; failing to realize that there’s much more to walking with Christ.
service at Destiny Harvest. It wasn’t a drastic change, but more of an opportunity for a subtle re-evaluation of my life. There was something missing. I remember calling the friend of mine that invited me to the church and thanking them so much. My exact words were, “I believe I have found what was missing from my life...God”. Since then, I learned how to rely on the Lord and what He has to say about our lives in the Bible. As I grew in my faith here at Destiny Harvest, I realized that I had the opportunity to help someone else grow closer to God by serving. I love that I get to see and interact with all kinds of people by serving on the Parking Team. We are the first to smile and wave at newcomers, church members, believers and nonbelievers, alike! Being able to greet them and put smiles on their faces gives me joy because I know that I’m having a positive impact on their view of God even before they hear the message. I’m grateful that I can make a difference.

BRITNEY THOMPSON My journey with Destiny Harvest started at Best Sunday Ever in the Spring of 2016. I travel a lot for work and I was in between California & Florida at the time when I called a friend of mine who went to Destiny Harvest to tell her about a church I had just gone to. I told her, “I found this really cool church where I can wear jeans, the people are kind of young, and the pastor

even has tattoos! I wish there was a place like this in Maryland.” She told me, “I actually have a church for you.” I didn’t end up coming until maybe her third invitation, but I was glad I finally came. Prior to coming to Destiny Harvest, I had been attending church, but I was reluctant to fully submit to God. I’m a very in-control, type-A personality and I thought I knew what I was doing. But God had been tugging at me for total control of my life. Once I came to Destiny Harvest, it was easier to see myself letting Him have control because I saw all these people at both similar & different stages of life as I, doing that very thing. Every Sunday the church would pray, “Holy Spirit, what are you saying to me?” Since I’ve let God take over, I’ve noticed that I talk different, I walk different, I pray different; my whole life is different! After coming for awhile, I started inviting my mom to come with me. Like me, it took several invitations and a lot of prayer, but she finally came! She said that she had noticed such a drastic change in my life and she just had to see what this church was all about. My mom felt the love and a sense of community from the parking team all the way to her seat and said, “This is home...This is what church is supposed to feel like.” It’s so awesome being able to see how we’re both growing. From hearing her pray out loud at home to the conversations we get to have coming home from church, it’s just so cool being able to grow together. Our story doesn’t end with just attending church. My mom was actually the first of us to be baptized here in September of 2016. Being fully-committed to God now, I decided to take that step in October of the same year. I wanted to show everyone that I’ve taken this pledge. I’m walking this walk. I’m living this life for Christ. It’s amazing being able to look back at pictures of my mom being baptized with me crying, and then looking at pictures of me being baptized and her doing the same. Our relationship and our family will never be the same!
