Kook 4

chaffeedaniel@yahoo.com

Because cooking shouldn’t drive you crazy.

5

Market Q: A:

How do healthier eating habits develop? What can be motivation and inspiration? Are there inhibitors preventing this?

It starts and ends in the kitchen. The way we organize utensils controls our diet.

6

COOKING UTENSILS ARE LOST INSIDE DRAWERS.

chaffeedaniel@yahoo.com

The throw away culture we live in is changing our diet and the way we perceive food. The art of cooking is being forgotten in urban kitchens.

Cooking utensils are lost inside drawers, we must

develop a more organized kitchen to help facilitate healthier eating habits.

7

Research

Sizing up the competition revealed that home goods distributors sell a limited range of organization tools. Cooking organization is divided into drawer storage, wall storage, and counter storage. There surely must be a more convenient way to organize without hiding utensils. A survey was created to grasp a better idea on what consumers were looking for. Analyzing this information revealed that kitchen organizing systems are not intuitive, they are hidden, and often considered an afterthought. They do not encourage healthier eating habits.

Interface Controlled by an App As you go about your day the weight sensor at the base of the bottle syncs with the app, monitoring water consumption. The app’s interface allows total control over your hydration. Creating daily goals, finding drinkable public water, and checking in with your friends to unlock badges are just a few of the digital features. Friendly reminders casually notify your phone when you haven’t drank in a while, preventing dehydration.

An iPhone case to save you on a night out.

33

Market Q: A:

What objects are frequently lost while out clubbing and bar hopping? How are they lost?

Cigarettes, phones, and wallets are commonly lost by party goers. These essentials get misplaced during the process of taking other objects out of their pockets.

34

CIGARETTES, PHONES, AND WALLETS.

chaffeedaniel@yahoo.com

Observing bar patrons throughout a typical night, revealed patterns in their behavior: -Take ID out of wallet -Take cash, or card, out of wallet again to buy a drink -Go outside and take out cigarettes -Dig around in another pocket to find a lighter -Check for text messages With so much movement in and out of pockets... ...Wouldn’t it be easier if they were all stored together?

Market Q: A:

Who goes hiking? And for how long?

Individuals, friends, and families go out hiking. Trips can last hours, days, or months.

42

WHAT ABOUT A GROUP OF HIKERS?

chaffeedaniel@yahoo.com

Food. It’s what brings us together. Yet lunch boxes on the market are designed too small, too bulky, or too hard for transportation. Well, what about a group of hikers? Here is a market opportunity for singular lunch bag that is easy to carry; yet big enough for a group.

chaffeedaniel@yahoo.com

Chainsaws today are targeted toward men. However, women do yard work too. So why isn’t there a chainsaw made for a matriarch home? Here is a market opportunity, for a straight-forward chainsaw that everyone can use, not just men.

65

Market Q: A:

When tasked to redesign a self checkout station, where lies the largest market? Who needs a better design to improve flow?

While using a self checkout station, it is clear that handicap shoppers have been forgotten during this checkout experience.

66

HANDICAP SHOPPERS HAVE BEEN FORGOTTEN.

chaffeedaniel@yahoo.com

Shopping while in a scooter is already challenging enough. I find it ridiculous that the payment process is equally as difficult. This must change.

67

Research

I go shopping nearly every night. I buy what I can carry, which is about two bags worth. I don’t use the self checkout stands. They are too high up and require too much movement, a lot of back and forth and twisting.

I go through regular checkout lanes, even though they’re too tall too. I’m forced to. Jeff Roland, differently abled shopper
