Welcome to our Mid-Year Report for 2017. For many years we have published Market Reports for the areas served by our sales offices. We believe this information should be available to real estate consumers so they can make informed decisions. Arranged by County/Town, this report compares closed residential transactions from the first six months of 2017 to 2016. This allows for any seasonality in the market. Although we do provide regional snapshots, it’s always important to recognize how “local” the residential real estate market really is (particularly in our smaller towns and villages). Overall there are a few things worth mentioning – for most areas, sales volume and prices are up (in spite of rising interest rates), and Days on Market are down. Regrettably inventory continues to be a real challenge, and many prospective buyers just can’t find what they want. It’s a great time of year to enjoy so much of what our different areas offer, but if you’re planning to sell in a few months, I urge you to meet now with one of our 900 sales “experts” to plan in advance!
