In 1886, Miss Mary Maury of Brooklyn, dreamed of building a summer cottage for extended family. She reviewed plans for a year before constructing what is now known as "Nunnakoma". The house, finished in 1897, was designed so that every room could have a water view. The home remained in the Maury family for 100 years.
In 1997, the home was repurchased by its current owners and significant updating began. The residence was lifted and a new crawl space was constructed below. Electrical service was upgraded, central air installed, a detached garage and service wing added along with construction of a second easterly facing porch.
