The History of Windfall
Built in 1928, the original three structure estate was a Gate Lodge and garage complex for the Bayberry Downs mansion which was complete in 1930 for Francis Tilden Nichols Sr whose grandfather was William H. Nichols, renewed chemist and American Businessman. The estate is one of the only North Shore Long Island homes designed by renowned architects Elton L. Howard and William E. Frenaye Jr, according to the book “Long Island Gold Coast”.
The Main Home
