Dear Chancellor Block and the Regents of the University of California; Holmby-Westwood Property Owners Association has voted to urge the preservation of and continued public access to the Hannah Carter Japanese Garden, as intended and envisioned by the Carter Family. This garden is considered one of the most notable Japanese Gardens in the United States and is a unique academic and cultural resource for UCLA and the public. We ask that UCLA develop a long-term preservation solution for the garden by working with the Coalition to Save the Hannah Carter Japanese Garden and other interested organizations and individuals to secure a public-private partnership to maintain and operate the garden for future generations to both learn from and enjoy. Holmby-Westwood Property Owners Association represents 1100 single-family homes adjacent to UCLA and has served the community for over fifty years. Sincerely,

SANDY BROWN President, Holmby-Westwood Property Owners Association
