Editor’s Post Greetings Monsters! First off, Happy July to all of you! So many events has happened in the month of June, each having their own individual story to be uncovered. Also, many upcoming events are sure to be announced in this issue of The Monsterly Post. In the month of June, Valley Key Club members attended events such as the Bubble Run, Elk Grove’s Run4Hunger, and so much more. This month, members also attended the June DCM as well as participated in the Officer Training Conference. Valley Key Club also sat down with their advisor Diane Rosenblum to discuss how to raise funds for Fall Rally North and DCON. In this issue, you will be able informed about the newly appointed Division Leadership Team of Division 7 South. On a side note, school will be back in about a month and a half! This means that members should get in as much community service done as possible. Summer is a great time to get in your hours! A friendly reminder to stay hydrated this summer. Many service events take place outside, so it would be a great idea to bring a water bottle along to stay hydrated. I hope everyone’s having a great summer so far. Thank you all for reading and I wish you all a great rest of your summer.
Did you know… Brad Pit, Bill Clinton, and Tom Cruise were in Key Club? Maybe one day you will become the next Key Clubber to become a celebrity!

On Saturday, June 18th, Valley Key Club board members and a Valley Key Club member attended the June DCM and Officer Training Conference held at Monterey Trail High School. What if…? As another year in Key Club comes to an end, you can’t help wondering a few “what if…?” questions. Hear what Valley Key Club members have to say about their “what if…?” question, in which each of them discover that if they didn’t do the things that they did, things would’ve turned out differently for them and they wouldn’t have gained a new experience.
What if I didn’t run for Valley Key Club Secretary? If I did not run for Valley Key Club Secretary, then I wouldn’t have met many great people, such as the Division 7 South Lieutenant Governor, David Thong. My high school life would also be totally different than now. I also wouldn’t have had so much self confidence and dedication to be a part of Key Club as I do now. I believe that high school will be lonely and boring if I did not run for the Secretary position.
Wasana Vang
What if I didn’t go to DCON last year? I would probably never have experienced the true meaning of Key Club. Key Club has a common misconception of being just a club full of Asians doing service events, but
when you reach DCON, it’s more than that. There’s so many people of different race, skin, gender, and religion who all want to do the same thing as you; serve and empower the community. DCON is a time to celebrate with others what you’ve been able to accomplish and what you’ve learned. It’s a feeling that can’t be described so shortly.

What if I didn’t go to Fall Rally North last year? In all honesty, I had lots of fun at Fall Rally North last year. It was amazing to see how many key clubbers came from different places in order to celebrate and attend Fall Rally. If I didn’t go, I wouldn’t have ever been able to experience and witness that. The best part about Fall Rally was getting to connect with fellow Key Club members and meet new people.
What if I didn’t join Key Club?
Lizbeth Rodriguez
In all honesty, if I didn’t join Key Club I would have probably done a sport. Key Club impacted me by giving me opportunities on how to better help and serve the community. My first year in Key Club has made me realize that it’s a fun club to be in and it truly sets itself
apart from other clubs and sports. I would most likely join Key Club again in the upcoming school year.
Fredrick Sakaoka
What if I run for an officer position next year? If I run for an officer position next year, I would run for
Treasurer. I would want to run for a position because I want to be even more involved in Key Club. If I am more involved in Key Club, I feel that I can better help out and serve the community. If I am Treasurer, I would do a lot of fundraising to support Valley Key Club so members can go to Fall Rally and DCON. Shakira Fangonilo
