T O L L K E E P E R G AT E Project Details: Date: December 2015 Type: Individual Rainwater

The Education/Learning Centre was an individual project where all the students were asked to design a sustainable building located at the Toll Keeper’s Park. The project invovled critital thinking to combine eight rooms in a thousand foot building footprint and required to provide information about different type of sustainable systems such as solar engery, heating, water management, and proper ventilation. This project is directed to minimize the use of land and utilize the space to provide a bettering place to work in.

Natural ventilation Trees, bushes and natural components act as a respiration to asorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen to permit clean and natural ventilation for occupants.

Electricity Power supply Solar panels are implemented to utilize natural resources. Asorbing the solar energy from the sun will maximize energy savings rather than depending the supplies from the government.

03

Absorbs heat

UV protection

Low E glass It functions to reflect, absorbs and transmit and maximaze energy savings. In the summer, low E glass reflects heat, resulting in cooler homes. In winter, low E glass asborbs solar rays that transmit heat while preventing to escape.

Classified as an exterior material, zincalume can incoperate many beneficial properties. Zincalume is proven as a excellent material that can withstand any type of harsh climate through sealing technology. Zincalume can also serve corrosion resistance and long lasting performance.

Site Analysis The site was located in a busy intersection of Davenport road and Bathurst which is followed by a historical house called “The Toll Keeper”. The site was surrounded by alot of land followed by trees, bushes and neighbouring residential houses directing on the west facade.

This utilizes proper drainage of rainwater management and prevents the building from being wet and flooded. Another beneficial physical property is that it absorb heat during the hotter parts of the day, it reduces peak indoor temperature, and it then releases that stored heat during the night.

2

MASSING POSITION The building orietation is arranged in the middle to adequately absorb solar rays. The front facade is placed in the south position to let air flow through the building effectively. Resulting with the right building orietation, occupants can surround them with the perfect scenery of the CN Tower at the right distance.

DIRECTION OF ACCESS The building is placed in a site where there are hill areas. Given access for accessible individuals, a ramp is implemented. Non-accessible inviduals can simply walk up the hill to access through the Toll Keeper education centre.

The warehouse project was a duo collaberation where we were assigned to create a model by using samples of technical drawings and provide the information from the drawings into a complete set of technical drawings. The project invovled requirements of the measurements of DETAIL B caisson height, elevations height, and open web joist spans, and reaching deadlines weekly. This project is directed to present the information that was taught in the course and transition these informations into commercial warehouse drawings.

MUSHROOM MODEL Project Details: Date: Janurary 27 2020 Type: Individual Organic shapes are globally used in architecture, defining shapes of building and to be compatiable to the nature of space. The mushroom model is served as a purpose of space, to provide visitors that feeling and experience what it’s like to be in an actual mushroom rooted in ground. The mushroom model significantly functions as a sightsee tower and a children playground.

LION DOOR KNOB Project Details: Date: Janurary 12 2020 Type: Individual Furniture has been heavily relied on for a very long time and continues to be a design aspect in relation to the architecture and interior design environment. The Lion Door knob has been chosen as one of my challenges as I conquer and raise my confidence by shading in one strike, in terms of highlights, constrast, and shading pressure. The circle knob attached with the head of a lion features a sequence of cool tones and dark colours aligns many impression such as mysterious, unknown, dark, puzzling and secretive feelings. The lion door knob was used in a colour pencil shading technique to provide a pop-out of a 3D realistic life image.

VIBRIANT ROOM Project Details: Date: July 20 2019 Type: Individual Three point prespective drawings are three vanishing points that forms a triangle, ususally starting from the centre point. This results in creating a distinctive pop out. This photo was selected because modern interior design involved a big openings of natural lighting are in trend and the branch connected with beads of lights forms as a chandelier which captured my attention as a dominent component in the image.

S PA D I N A O N C O R N E R Project Details: Date: August 11 2019 Type: Individual A prespective drawing is an essential piece to visualize the vanishing points to create an two dimensional product in a two dimensional plane. In an architecture point of view, this allows the viewer understand the building in an interior or exterior standing point of view. The photo was chosen to reminsence the times I valued during my college years. Spadina on corner also reminds me of my own childhood memory lane as a local spot to eat after school.

S TA C K E D B O X Project Details: Date: October 15 2020 Type: Individual Laminated paper

The model demonstates four disproportionate shaped boxes stacked in a irregular position. The objective is to display the purpose of playing a rubrix cube, but in a out of portion perspective view. Percised cuts on all four walls were required to form as perforated skins, whereas light rays are emitted and embedded in the shaped box. These boxes were assembled to flash out shadows of the perforated skin patterns yet shows a great demonstration how study shadows are showcased. Sugarcane fiber straws are functioned as columns to support the boxes and provide a natural element aesthetic.

LIFE DOESN’T DEFINE WHO Y OU ARE Project Details: Date: December 20 2020 Type: Individual The use of social media has been overpowering yet abusive pyschology leading to lack of self esteem and confidence to many users worldwide. This is now a leading social issue upon our universe needing to be address and where many do not often acknowledge this being only damaging and toxic to our wellbeing in a mental state of mind. We now live in a world filled with smart phones only being hypnotize and isolated to reality and real world problems. We only believe what is given to us with upbringing news on social media but we don’t take it for granted as a gift by experiencing the real deal problematically.

N O VA S C O T I A Project Details: Date: Janurary 12 2020 Type: Individual I never experience the state of exploring the east coast, specifically Nova Scotia, Canada. I would always wonder, imagine and dread through my own thoughts picturing this painting by myself and questioning what would it actually be like stepping foot in Nova Scotia. Doing this piece made me protray my own thoughts pouring every inch of mixed feelings to reflect how I currently view the amazing environment, Nova Scotia. Subtle, calm and peaceful are the key elements arising my inner feelings and accumulating through this amosphere where I only dream at this very moment for now.

COACH HOUSE Project Details: Date: December 10 2014 Type: Individual The Coach House is a model-built-project displaying my understanding and technical aspects of a detail house section. Attending my structural, building science and architecture lectures, I was able to grasp a great deal of knowledge I have accumulated and put it into best practical use to demonstrate a functional building system.

MOM’S GIFT Project Details: Date: December 25 2020 Type: Individual Time has always been an essential factor we all value but also take a granted of in life. Christmas is a special day to celebrate every once a year as we gradually bond together with friends and family wrapping up by celebrating the last month of every year. Mom’s gift is a piece to signify the appreciation of memories and times she spent raising myself and growing up with fruitful memories in the city of Toronto. As a child, i was constantly immersed in various cultures, understanding the dynamics of the bustling streets and transportation navigation of Toronto. Mom’s gift was a challenge, as i set myself to complete this creation in a limit time span of 8 hours, before Christmas appeared the next day. Fireworks stamped with the year of 2020 concludes the only year I grew a close mother to daughter relationship.
