PROJECT DESCRIPTION We use the learning framework from National Geographic Education to facilitate interdisciplinary art workshops. Guide students to create and communicate visual stories that inspire pro-environmental action for the ocean. Encourage children to engage in actions to reduce the potential causes of marine litter. Inspire action using basic elements of art and natural materials to help with the creation of visually powerful sculptures.

Supplies CULTIVATE CREATIVITY When it comes to materials, the simpler, the better. Empty jam jars help with organization, egg cartons as paint pallets, and brown paper bags as a canvas. Save what you feel can be part of future work of art. Nature sticks from walks outside and seashells from your beach days. Everyone's favorite, cardboard scraps, are perfect for building.

SIMPLE MATERIALS GO A LONG WAY

STORING RECYCLABLES LEARN MORE Here are some ways to store your collected materials and stay organized. 1. Use baskets to bring out the materials that will be used for the day. 2. Categorize your material, keep loose parts in empty jars and save nature parts for future art projects.
