Course Description This course’s aim is to move forward in the command of the English skills developed in the past two courses and increase student’s communicative competence in English. It will promote the use of the language in varied contexts, aiming towards the academic and professional field of the student.
ď‚— This competence will be developed on the linguistic
(declarative knowledge), socio-linguistic (know how), and pragmatics (ability to adapt and learn) aspects of the language. To achieve this, the language will be practiced in a wide range of contexts and will motivate students to express themselves confidently, accurately, and fluently through a series of situations, activities, and exercises that will take place in the classroom within a specific language framework.

Specific Competencies ď‚— Strengthens a basic command of the receptive (Listening and Reading) and productive (Speaking and Writing) skills. ď‚— Interacts applying the four basic skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) in several basic contexts and situations. ď‚— Advances in the basic management of the sub-skills (grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation)
Specific Competencies ď‚— Applies the principles, forms, and functions of the skills in specific and varied activities related to their professional area. ď‚— Experiences enjoyment in learning and applying the second language into a real context.
