Video Games (Rhyme)

Video games are amazing and they are always changing They are impossibly great and better than anyone can even rate Video games are a great pastime and they will never flatline Indie games, famous games, GTA V and even Tetris, will always thrive Because they can bring people together No matter the time, no matter the weather Video games will live forever, no matter what. The doors to the stores will never shut.

The Forgotten City (Alliteration)

In this barren desert Trees no longer bear fruits No more berries, no balmy apples And no birds to sail through the blue sky These barren plains, and breathless trees The broken metal carriages, the blackened fallen towers used to shine like new, bright bulbs. Until its own people brought themselves to a great war. The Forgotten City used to have a name It is thought to be,

New York City

The Map (Assonance)

You cannot find your way, unless you have a map. However, the map is not always apt. The map could be flawed. Ask others for directions, for they can correct your map. Maybe you can come across some mad people, who only sabotage your map. But even then, you can not lose hope. Your map is still intact, it can still be read. Find a pal, or some lad on the street and ask them for help. Who knows? They may fix your map entirely.

Earth (Personification)

As I fly past the planets, I remember so many things I can feel the fuel burning, and the universe running past. Then I see it, this wondrous, living, breathing rock. Somehow, this rock was in the right place, at the right time, for the spark. This floating rock would speak, telling its inhabitants of its amazing stories of the past. This wondrous, living, breathing rock lives by the name its inhabitants gave it. And it wouldn’t change it for anything. Earth.

Cymbals and Drums (Onematopoeia)

Boom, crash The cymbals awaken Beat, Smack The drums are getting louder Make them be heard across the world Make them be appreciated for years to come The drums and cymbals will always be played Boom, Crash! The cymbals will be heard for all eternity, no matter what, you will always hear them.

Out of School (Metaphor & Simile)

When I get out of school, I play video games Just for fun, as recreation I think video games are as fun as using a trampoline, and as exciting as being an astronaut. In a video game, I am the king of whatever I want to be. I have been told that video games are as useless as the white crayon, but I honestly don’t care about their opinion. I am the king of my own decisions, and I will play what I want, when I want. I usually have the most fun in online games with friends When it comes to video games, I am a surgeon, extremely skilled. I am a strategist, solving problems expertly. I will try to find a solution for everything, even if it seems as impossible as a flying pig.

I burst through the front door, greeting old friends. I’m partying like there is no tomorrow. I run to the roof, rejoining the rest of the group. I am the first to jump off the roof and into the pool, ignoring the rule. (enjambment, simile, alliteration, end rhyme)

I walk in through the back door, avoiding people who know me. I walk into an empty room, like a scared child. I sit in a seat, staying out of sight of the others. I am the first to leave the party, hoping no one saw me. (enjambment, simile, alliteration, end rhyme)

The Team behind the Screen (Allusion)

I boot up my computer, and start up Team Fortress 2. I sign into Steam and join up with my team. We play all day, like LeBron James, but someone on our team decided to be a Benedict Arnold. We kicked him off the team and said “We’re not going to have a Judas on our team!”

PB & J (Tone)

Great tasting bread a nice bit of grape a lot of peanut butter Wow, tastes great! Old crunchy bread? terrible tasting grape? oily peanut butter? Probably tastes like tape! Two slices of bread a grape jelly spread with some peanut butter served on a plate

The Jungle (Imagery)

I am running past sharp, cutting leaves Away from the tiger’s roar There are sounds of insects buzzing, and birds chirping These animals are deadly, and will make you feel chills After they get you, all you can smell is blood. Running, running as fast as possible away from this thing that emits such a roar

Back from School (Hyperbole)

I’m walking home from school, fifteen tons of homework on my back, along with my mac. I’m thinking that homework is the worst thing imaginable. Then I get home and put my homework in a pile one million miles high. writing and thinking, not stopping once. When I was done, I took a nap that lasted for years

Sonnet #1

Dos’t thou ever feelest like an old bag Wrinkled, saggy so light soaring through the air Are thou underground, none to hear you nag Thou spark ignites like a glistening flare Thou are not devoid of space that is waste Thine future cannot be told on this day Greatness is something thou will often taste Storms may come and rain but rainbows will stay Roads lead to doors that open new portals Thy heart will gleam like bright pyrotechnics Explosions in the sky like immortals Stopwatch goes off my heart boom boom boom ticks Thou spirit is sparkling like a hidden gem. The world will know thee and awaken
