Reclamation products are crafted entirely within the United States, utilizing salvaged materials from blighted urban st ructures, churches, barns and homes. We believe not only in creating products that are environmentally conscious, but also built to last – durable and beautiful in a way that withstands the test of time. The story of Rustbelt Reclamation echoes that of the region for which it is named. Once the cradle of American industry, the natural resources of the “Steel Belt” gave rise to centers of commerce and culture; cities like Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Cleveland flourished in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries. Later, as globalization and foreign competition eroded the manufacturing base, jobs became scarce and the population was forced to move out of the region, leaving a “Rust Belt” in the shadow of the once proud “Steel Belt.” This shift left an overabundance of structures that have since become relics of a bygone era. The renaissance of the Rust Belt in recent years has brought new markets to these great cities, but the buildings of the past remain. At Rustbelt Reclamation, we yield value out of the lumber from these blighted structures, pulling any usable materials prior to their demolition – reducing both the cost of disposal and, more importantly, the amount of refuse bound for the landfill. -5-

R E From Maine to Hawaii, look for our coin. Each piece crafted by Rustbelt Reclamation features an inlaid coin that indicates the location from where the material was sourced. The Rustbelt Reclamation coin signals an heirloom-quality product that is designed and built to endure for generations, telling the unique stories of the history of the region, of our company, and of our customers. We also have the capabilities to etch custom-branded coins for those who wish to bolster the details of their piece. Learn more about where a piece came from by visiting the Salvages page on our website. Each structure and material that was spared from the landfill and given new life is part of our narrative.

Wide-plank

A sur face composed of tongue and groove joined wood boards. The individual boards range from 4 to 8 inches in width. The face grain is revealed on the top sur face in this application. Wide-plank sur faces are generally manufactured to 1.5 inch thick.

Bu tch e r b l ock

Live edge

Live edge sur faces incorporate the natural edge of the tree into the design. Generally the sur face is made from a complete “slab which is ver tical cross-section of the tree, with t wo live edges on long-sides of the sur face. Rustbelt can source most species edge slabs from windfall trees that have fallen in storms or urban trees cut down in the city to make way for utilities and land use.

Smooth

Flat and free of texture, recesses and differences in elevation.

Semi-rough

Some surface texture and minimal elevation differences from board to board.

Brushed

A uniformly rough texture by a steel brush drum sanding machine.

Weathered

Naturally aged by the elements.

Rustbelt Reclamation uses commercial grade finishes to ensure longevit y and durabilit y. Standard stains shown. Color matching available.

*Due to the nature of reclaimed wood, any par ticular species may var y widely in color and figure. The application of a specific stain can help create uniformit y in color, but expect that pieces produced in multiples to var y from piece to piece.

The reclaimed wood we use in our products is old growth that has been aged for decades and tends to be denser and more stable when compared to virgin lumber of the same species. We remain faithful to the heritage and superiority inherent in our material; we are committed to producing the quality products that our customers deser ve and desire. Rustbelt Reclamation is cer tified by the Forest Stewardship Council ÂŽ and can fabricate FSCÂŽ cer tified products upon request. -51-
