Intro Filmmakers are now in an age that leans heavily upon online presence and exposure. Platforms such as Vimeo, YouTube and Netflix are continuing to provide excellent opportunities for exposure but they are saturated with a large collection of films which makes it difficult to access some specific genres. Adventure films fall into this area as there is an ambiguity between documentary films that can address any topic and sport filmmaking which is driven more so by visuals rather than narrative. What Stoked provides is a focus on this area, what we call adventure films with a conscious. Stoked is dedicated to this genre of documentary as we carefully curate a channel to provide a quality film selection. As well, each year we will feature a specific topic within the genre. In addition to a dependable destination for fellow outdoor and film enthusiasts, we will be providing a seasonal publication that reflects the genre as a whole and the specific topic each year. This will be a collection of articles already written by professionals in the field and accredited as such. There will be approximately three articles carefully selected with an additional fourth essay written as a collaboration between the curators. The publication will be available online for free. The third operation is to host an online independent film festival, again within the same genre. This is to support the adventure film industry so up-and-coming filmmakers can present their work within a established context. Fitting with the rest of our accessibility goals, the festival will have a primary basis online for easy viewership and opportunity to share work. This festival is specifically for new and independent filmmakers who have not entered the commercial industry yet so that they con begin to make a name for themselves. A physical premiere for the festival may happen although it is not a priority.

Stoked Adventure ďŹ lms with a conscious. A curated channel for adventure documentaries to inspire viewers to get outdoors to share the excitement. The collection includes full ďŹ lms and trailers. To submit or suggest email d.mously@live.com Each year the channel will feature a special interest topic to showcase within the genre. This will be a common theme in subject matter that will highlight issues or set of stories. To culminate each season we will include our top picks in our publication. As we prepare for 2017 we have narrowed down our selection to two final options: Changing Landscape and Weekend Warriors. The former will highlight adventure films that consider the environmental impacts humans face and how its changing their sports. A prime example of this is the reduced sea ice levels around Greenland thats changing the water access and skiing in the area (Shifting Ice and Changing Tides, 2015). Weekend Warriors highlights the stories of outdoor athletes and enthusiasts that integrate adventure into their live whenever possible. In Vancouver, BC Spencer Seabrooke pours concrete on weekdays and free solo slack lines 200M above the ground on weekends (Untethered, 2015).
