SEASONED BY EXPERIENCE

THE THINGS WE DO, DO SOMETHING TO US.

OUR DEEDS SEASON US AND SHAPE OUR WORLD.

THE INDEPENDENT MINDS AMONG US KNOW OF WHAT WE SPEAK.

WE SHARE THE LANGUAGE OF ACTION: WE GO FURTHER DOWN THE TRAIL, WE GO DEEPER INTO OUR WORK, WE SEEK TO LEARN FROM OUR GREAT TEACHER: EXPERIENCE.

WE’VE MADE BOOTS IN PORTLAND, OREGON FOR ABOUT 100 YEARS. OUR BOOTS WENT TO WORK IN THE FOREST DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION, TO THE SHIPYARDS IN PORTLAND AND INTO THE WILD WITH ANYONE LOOKING TO REFRESH THEIR SOUL.

TODAY WE ARE SEASONED BY OUR EXPERIENCE. THE QUALITY OF OUR GOODS IS PROOF.

PORTLAND OREGON USA

WHEN CHARLES DANNER CAME TO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST IN THE 1930s, HE BROUGHT HIS BOOTS TO A FIERCE AND RUGGED COUNTRY.

THE LOGGERS HE SERVED CHOSE TO LEAVE CONVENTIONAL SOCIETY IN ORDER TO FORGE A NEW ONE. IT WAS RELENTLESS, DANGEROUS WORK MADE SLIGHTLY MORE BEARABLE BY BOOTS THAT STOOD UP TO THE SEVERITY OF THEIR TASK.

“MY BUSINESS HAS BEEN BUILT ON QUALITY.”

My business has been built on quality in material, craftsmanship, and fit. I have the shoemakers with the know-how. We’ll never be too busy to take care of your needs.

You will find in this catalog new items made by people interested in people. I am offering them to you because I want to keep you as an active customer for as long as it takes you to wear out our boots, whether it is one or ten years. I have used these items myself and can vouch for each of them.

MADE IN THE USA

Danner’s quality standards have been maintained in our Portland, Oregon factory since 1932. These standards are upheld by our overseas partners and throughout every aspect of our business. We combine meticulous engineering, innovative design and superior craftsmanship to create boots that are built to last. From the selection of premium materials to the precision of every stitch, our process is dedicated to durability and functionality. Each boot is a product of careful thought and is designed to meet the needs of trailblazers on the trail, in the shop and out in the field.

PRODUCT DESIGN

OUR PRODUCT DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

We see boot design as an art form— a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality.

Our design philosophy has been shaped over nearly a century and reflects everything we’ve learned in our quest to build the best boots we can for the people who wear them.

We start with a deep understanding of your needs, drawing inspiration from the rugged landscapes you explore or the challenging work you perform. We integrate cutting-edge technologies and materials to ensure that every boot is not only stylish but also reliable. We balance innovation with tradition, incorporating modern trends while staying true to our heritage of craftsmanship and durability.

It's not just about creating a boot; it's about crafting a piece of history, a companion for your job or journey, wherever it may take you.

PREMIUM MATERIALS

QUALITY BOOTS START WITH QUALITY MATERIALS

Nothing short of the best materials are up to Danner’s quality standards— because you rely on our boots.

Take our leather: All hides are handinspected and must pass five tests to ensure that only the best make it to the boots on your feet.

These quality standards extend beyond the walls of our factories. They are our guiding principle when sourcing materials and building relationships. In the 1960s, we began our long-standing partnership with Vibram®, producers of the highest-quality soles on the planet. Later, in the 1970s, we collaborated with GORE-TEX to pioneer the use of its revolutionary technology in footwear. These partnerships endure to this day and fuel our mission to craft the highest quality boots possible.

GORE-TEX has partnered with Danner to pioneer the use of its revolutionary waterproofing technology footwear since 1979.

ENGINEERING

CRAFTED WITH CARE, ENGINEERED TO LAST

Taking an idea for a boot and turning it into something real is a long, hard journey. Our engineers work tirelessly for months—sometimes years—until we get things right.

Prototypes are tested and analyzed again and again, and improvements are constantly being made. In the end, only our best, most durable boots will meet our quality standards and bear the Danner name.

LAB TESTING

RECREATING OUT THERE, IN HERE.

It’s impossible to recreate nature— but our quality standards demand that we try. In a room that overlooks the factory floor, our lab testing team imagines the furthest reaches of human ability.

Here, we control chaos. We fully submerge boots and observe with a razor sharp eye: if a single bubble escapes from a GORE-TEX liner, it is rejected. We flex boots thousands of times: decades of hikes compressed into a single day. We test in mild conditions and in chambers built to mimic the Arctic cold.

We test new boots in development as well as existing boots that have been used for years.

We test, so you can trust.

FIELD TESTING

FOR BOOTS AS LIMITLESS AS YOU ARE

We stop at nothing to make sure that every boot we put out into the world lives up to the Danner name. Which is why our boots aren’t just designed; they undergo rigorous trials in the most challenging environments. Field Testing is a tough, exhaustive process, but it’s how we know our boots will make it in the real world—the only place that matters.

From scaling rugged mountains to navigating harsh work sites, our boots are tested by those who know them best: the adventurers, workers, and outdoor enthusiasts who depend on them every day. Their experiences and feedback are integral to our design process and ensure that each pair of Danner boots delivers unmatched durability, comfort and performance day in and day out.

RECRAFTING

PROOF OF QUALITY

Our commitment extends long past the moment you take a pair of our boots home.

It was that way back in 1932, and it’s still the case today. At the core of this commitment is Danner Recrafting, a department dedicated to repairing and reconditioning your boots to extend their life and keep them doing what they do best.

Recrafting is a call to action for us all, a higher standard for how we craft, consume and care for the objects that enable our way of life.

Recrafting is the ultimate realization of Danner’s quality standards: it is only by crafting a boot of the utmost quality that it can be used year after year, repaired, and put back into service.

CRAFTED PRECISELY FOR WOMEN

SINCE 1932 DANNER HAS BEEN WORKING TO BUILD THE BEST FITTING BOOTS, BUT WE KNEW WE COULD DO EVEN BETTER FOR WOMEN AND WE HAVE WITH PRECISION FIT.

WE LISTENED, WE SURVEYED WE TESTED AND WE‘VE CONFIRMED WHAT WE’VE ALWAYS THOUGHT: A WOMAN’S FOOT IS NOT THE SAME AS A MAN’S FOOT.

WE FOCUSED ON MAKING A WIDER TOE BOX AND THE HEEL NEEDED TO BE MORE NARROW TO REDUCE HOT SPOTS.

WE KNOW NOT EVERY FOOT IS THE SAME, BUT PRECISION FIT PROVIDES A MORE INCLUSIVE OPTION FOR WOMEN’S SPECIFIC SIZING.

THIS ISN’T MERELY A MEN’S FIT THAT’S BEEN ADJUSTED, PAINTED PINK OR MADE SMALLER. THIS IS A TRUE FIT, BUILT FOR WOMEN

BECAUSE YOUR BOOTS SHOULD FEEL LIKE AN EXTENSION OF YOU.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE FORM

It might seem obvious, but yes, women’s feet are shaped differently than men’s, having a narrower heel width and wider toe box. Most boots are adjusted from forms designed for men, resulting in poor support, blisters, and a rough day on your feet.

BULL RUN

DESPITE OUR BEST EFFORTS, THINGS FALL APART. BOLTS RATTLE LOOSE. OIL LEAKS. TIRES GO FLAT. NEW BECOMES USED. SIMPLE BECOMES COMPLICATED. AND EVEN THE CLEAR ROADS GET MESSY.

WHEN OUR BEST-LAID PLANS GET INTERRUPTED, WE STILL FIND A NEW WAY FORWARD. WITH THE RIGHT MINDSET, THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY THROUGH. THIS IS LIFE, AND NO ONE SAID IT WOULD BE EASY OR RELIABLE. BUT THAT’S WHY WE MAKE BOOTS THAT WILL SEE YOU THROUGH THE HARD TIMES. SO YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND YOUR WAY BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS.

“The best work boots I have ever owned. I will never buy anything else. Comfortable, waterproof and lightweight.”

“Never stop making these, please. Please.”

“You take GORE-TEX footwear for granted until you have to work in heavy rain all day.”

WE MEASURED TWICE WHEN ENGINEERING THE VICIOUS, USING PREMIUM MATERIALS LIKE FULL-GRAIN LEATHER, GORE-TEX LINERS AND VIBRAM ® SOLES TO CREATE A HIGHLY DURABLE AND CAPABLE WORK BOOT THAT DIDN’T JUST PASS OUR TESTS— IT PASSED YOURS, TOO.
