01 Housing in Hometown The process of going home, the Lifescapes and Mixed living

TKU 3rd Design Studio 2016 Advisor : Chao-Ying, Chen

Type : Multiple Dwellings Location : Datong, Taipei City Building Amount : 1 Area : Downtown, Old block

Create new spatial models and social relationships through traditional spatial models. Mix different types of residential units and share public space to create mutual benefits of homogeneity and heterogeneity. Expand the scope of home to form a sense of belonging between neighbors. Public spaces of different natures are shared in series to create a sense of regional identity. Have a sense of belonging to home, community, and hometown.

ISSUE INTRODUCTION

Home, what matters is family activities and a sense of belonging among family members. Taiwan ’s traditional lifestyle and humandeveloped street space scale, The social relationship is relatively close, and the neighborhood shares public space-the street. The sense of belonging of a modern house to the home is only within the scope of the house. The experience of going home only ended with the hall's guards-the hall-and then returned home. Cut off horizontal and vertical neighbourhoods and form social relations today.

02 H-O-ffice

Life and work be integrated harmoniously, HOffice is a new lifestyle

TKU 3rd Design Studio 2016 Advisor : Ching-Huang, Chu

Type : New office building Location : Zhongzheng, Taipei City Building Amount : 1 Area : Downtown, Park H-O-ffice is a lifestyle and space I propose. As a space, H-O-ffice is neither a Work place nor a Office building. It is a field of life and also an urban atrium. As a lifestyle, H-O-ffice is part of life. Work is mobile, flowing. Work takes place in everywhere, any space. H-O-ffice is something in between, H-O-ffice is a Lifestyle.

ISSUE INTRODUCTION

Technology has improved people's lives in the past. And now technology is mainly connecting people together. Technology connects not only people and information, but also people. In the future, technology will create a new lifestyle. In the past, office and home were separated. Nowadays, people can work from home or live in a homelike office. Between home and office, the development of technology will merge to create a new lifestyle and new space. We can no longer precisely define home and office, and we can no longer accurately divide life into zones.

03 Nature & Order

Dynamic Perception in Architecture and the Nature in Architecture

TKU CAAD Lab Thesis 2017 Advisor : Chen-Cheng, Chen

Type : Farm Shed Sea Hut Forest Cafe Fishing Atrium Location : Tamsui, New Taipei City Building Amount : 4 Area : Riverside, Park The construction of a "place", the most important is the process of reaching this "place". This "process" I see it as a kind of "dynamic perception". In the process of reaching "Tamsui", What do I observe? What do I perceive? I chose two paths to "Tamsui". I divided the phenomena and changes I was perceived into four states and then transformed into four concepts, developing into four conceptual models. These four states have their commonality and dissimilarity. Through the commonalities and dissimilarities of the four "states", I try to find order in the four "states" and creating order and system. Choose four sites to develop the four concepts into architecture.

ISSUE INTRODUCTION

Is there any kind of experience to go to the beach or the mountain with family during the holidays? Everyone is looking forward to the trip. After passing a corner and then saw the sea, the moment of seeing the sea is very touching. You see the waves hit the rocks and stirred the waves. Finally, you reach the sea. Or from the city to the mountains, after a crossing and then saw the mountain, the moment that saw the mountain is very touching. In the winding road, see the beautiful tree shadow changes. You see a cloud, much like a marshmallow, slowly turning into an animal. These experiences constitute the impression of this "place." The next time you go to the beach or the mountains, the memories and experiences of these "places" will be recalled.

Place The cognition and feeling of a "place". In addition to the "place" itself, I think the more important is the "process". How do you get there? What do you perceive? Regardless of the environment or the scenery, a series of continuous dynamic experiences accumulate to construct the cognition and feeling of the "place", building the impression of the "place".

Dynamic Perception in Architecture and the Nature in Architecture

Process There are two ways to enter or leave "Tamsui" I like. One is the mountain road and the other is the road by the sea. On these two paths, I can feel the changes of natural phenomena clearly. These "dynamic perceptions" construct impression of "Tamsui". Changes in these natural phenomena including the flow of the sea stacked layer by layer, the impact of rock with the waves and infiltration, the interaction between the shadow of the trees and the interaction between the clouds.

Concept The observed phenomena and changes, divided into four states, transform into four concepts. "Accumulation", "Seep", "Fuse" and "Morph". The four states can be considered as a continuous experience of the process but also be regarded as four independent states. In these four states, we can see the process of the interaction between substances. We can see a kind of order or force interaction in the process of change. Through the interaction to produce a new state, the new pattern. What I want to discuss is the relationship between "natural" and "unnatural."

Accumulation

This model tries to be constructed from simple elements and linear elements. There are four levels. Trying to use transparency and material to create two levels to describe the state of "natural" and "unnatural" stacking together. The two layers on the outside are opaque materials and the two layers inside are transparent materials. The same kind of material create a new pattern by moving with different directions. The dynamic process of interaction creates new patterns by different directions and different materials.

Seep

This model tries to be constructed from simple elements and linear elements. There are four levels. Trying to use transparency and material to create two levels to describe the state of "natural" and "unnatural" stacking together. The two layers on the outside are opaque materials and the two layers inside are transparent materials. The same kind of material create a new pattern by moving with different directions. The dynamic process of interaction creates new patterns by different directions and different materials.

Fuse

This model describes the state of "natural" and "unnatural" interactions by different materials and transparency. The horizontal dimension shows how "natural" and "unnatural" interact with each other in a linear state. The vertical dimension shows their solid, void and their own patterns by the non-linear elements. Through the process of dynamic movement to describe the "natural" and "unnatural" seep in each other. "Nature" and "unnatural" have their own pattern, solid and void. When "natural" and "unnatural" seep in each other by the dynamic process. It will be created new patterns, new solid, new void and new relationship. However, after seeping in each other, their originals patterns still can be seen in the new patterns.

Morph

This model creates a little-to-large structure with a few fragmented elements. Constructed as a whole model with every little element. These small elements describe the relationship between "natural" and "unnatural" by different materials and different levels of transparency. These small elements are the same series of patterns and they are in harmony with each other. These small elements are built together as a whole model by some sort of order. This whole model is not fixed, it will be perceived different patterns and states by every different dynamic movement.

Looking for the order of the four states, creating order among the chaos, creating nature among man-made. I chose four places on the path to "Tamsui" as sites. "The moment of seeing the mountain", "The moment of seeing the sea", "The landscapes of the mountains" and "The landscapes of the sea." Developing into Architecture with four states, looking for order in nature and creating nature in architecture. Trying to operate different elements and operating the density and chaos in different elements. Through these, we can create a certain kind of transparency and organic patterns. We can create the impression of a "Tamsui". The four buildings are "Farm Shed", "Sea Hut", "Forest Cafe", "Fishing Atrium." What I want to do is find order in nature and create nature in architecture.

04 Fluiditecture

Fludity of Architecture, Fragmented, Complex and Reorganization

TKU EN Lab Thesis 2017 Advisor : Ying-Chang, Yu

Type : Mall, Park, Playground Location : Xinyi, Taipei City Building Amount : 1 Area : Downtown, Park Creating complexity through the process of fragmentation. Releasing restricted forms or spaces through complexity. Creating expressiveness and fluidity through liberalization.Through the fragmented fluids, finding the free forms created by co m p l ex i t i e s . F i n d i n g t h e A rch i tect ural Automonument through the liberalization of forms or spaces.

ISSUE INTRODUCTION

Building form is limited by the efficiency of the material, the limitations of the material, and the constraints on the structure of the column and slab wall. Capitalism pursues economics and efficiency, and excessive pursuit of intensive creates homogeneity, either black or white. Emancipating the form of the building from the limits, the performance of the building is no longer limited, breaking the efficiency and economy, and creating a form of freedom through complexity. Create a ash between black and white through a free form, create dynamics, break efficiency and economy, and create a free space structure through complexity. Through the reorganization after shredding, through the structure of the dotted line, create a smooth space arrangement and experience of space. The elements of architecture are unique and part of the whole, from a single form of development to the whole, extending from the whole.
