The focus of the program was to teach kids how to ride on any and all boarding sports. With the primary focus being on longboarding, the students experienced fun-filled days going to local skate parks, to downhill skate hills for both beginner & advanced riders, and to our best beaches for Wakeboarding and other related beach events. The Sport of Longboarding is growing at exponential rates every year. Young riders in the sport often want to walk before they crawl after seeing how Pro Riders did it on the Colabo Film, The Fellowship of the Bearing. The next logical step of our ever-growing community was to educate the youth on how to ride in a safe & responsible way while respecting the communities where we congregate.

Publications My Most Recent Blog Interview SkateSlate.com January 10, 2013 Authors: Dan Pape, Justus Zimmerly Interview with Kevin Reimer World Champion SkateSlate.com October 29, 2012 Authors: Dan Pape, Kevin Reimer Intro to Interview Big news came yesterday in the form of an announcement from the newly formed International Downhill Federation, a new sanctioning body for gravity sports. After a year of turmoil on the IGSA circuit, some riders and race organizers have decided to take matters into their own hands and create a governing body that is more closely inline with the needs of racers today. The IGSA has done a lot to help grow our sport over the last decade, but frustrations with the current structure really came to a head this season at a number of races, leaving participants with the short end of the stick. IGSA has promised changes for the 2013 season, but they’ll now be competing against the roster of races announced by the IDF. In order to get a better handle on what the future holds, Dan Pape got in touch with former IGSA World Champion and current IDF rider representative Kevin Reimer to ask him a few questions.

Projects Fellowship of the Bearing March 2008 to April 2009 Members:Dan Pape, Patrick Weir, Marcus Maraih The Film is a remarkable adventure into groundbreaking downhill skateboarding competitions that has, since their inception, defined new styles of extreme skateboarding. This film takes the viewers to top races and some of the worlds highest peaks with breakthrough footage from some of the hardest working and most recognized downhill skaters out there. Matched with acclaimed Cinematographers and skaters that know the ropes, the passion is obvious by the amount of heart that was dedicated to shooting. “Our hope is the tech and smooth high speed skating will inspire skaters to try new types of skateboarding by seeing it done first hand by some of our industries best athletes”. Aside from the Colabo riders (Nathan Lang, Mike Mc Goldrick, Kevin Reimer, Max Erwin, Brianne Davies and Quinn Dubois) in the film, our journey took us well beyond our original goal to simply make a solid team video. He also generally inspires others around him to have a similar a attitude. I have worked with Dan on and off on a variety of projects within our employment and as volunteers. I know Dan to be hard working, dependable and enjoyable. It has been a pleasure to know Dan and would recommend him for similar opportunities to collaborate on marketing, events, contests and videos." — Les Robertson, Marketing and Sponsorship Manager, Rayne Longboards, was with another company when working with Dan at Skate[Slate] "Dan is a visionary in an industry that is both highly creative and highly skeptical, a virtual mine field of failure awaits skateboarders turned entrepreneurs in this incredibly competitive and passion driven market. As most marketers of the Gen-X and Echo-boom demographics know, there is a fickleness to deal with that even a slight misstep will have them turn on you. Dan has effectively understood and spoken to this group through his work and has maintained their trust in all his ventures." — Ian Comishin, was Dan's client "Dan is a creator and visionary of Longboarding Culture. Dan began his legacy as a sponsored participant in 2003 and his legacy still continues to grow to this day. His social rank quickly rose when he directed / produced the first ever full length movie which captured Longboarding culture in 2006. Taking cue of the people and culture of Longboarding at the time, he managed to share his vision on a full-package DVD to a larger audience, well-accepted by mainstream outlets. Later, Dan shared his passion for Longboarding safety and good practices for youth and family. He created a weekend program for kids which he conducted himself, friends, and the community. To this day, Dan continues to share his passion and love for the sport. His co-owned magazine company, SKATE-SLATE, continues to capture, and share his vision of Longboarding across North America and Europe. He employs local skills, maintains a quality of excellence, and continues to create an opportunity for up-and-coming skaters to be in a widely read international subscription." — Hayato Tanaka, Principal, HAYATO TANAKA STUDIO, worked with Dan at Colabo Innovations Inc. In the longboarding world Dan is very well known for his passion to race, teach, film and organize people. A trusted father, husband and friend. Dan is a great guy." — Rocky Anderson, Actor, Muse Artist Management, worked with Dan at Fellowship of the Bearing "Dan at the time when we met was looking far into the future as to what path our beloved sport of longboarding would lead. He was working on a film project with a spread out group of people, bringing them together and capturing the best of their abilities, and the story behind it all. Being very fortunate I was asked upon to be part of the fun in creating high quality media for our sport. Dan has always been eager to help, had keen insights, been very personable and easy to work with. Becoming a family man, he has directed his efforts in the behind-the-scenes of our sport and has done much to bring professionalism and a clear perception to the public of the safe and educated development of our sport. Through his achievements it has helped many build upon the foundation created." — Patrick Switzer, Downhill Skateboard Ambassador, British Columbia Institute of Technology, worked directly with Dan at Fellowship of the Bearing
