2013 FORUM

THE FORUM

The Best Practices Forum was established in 1995 in cooperation with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to recognize accomplishments in the field of compliance. Since that time the Best Practices Award has been accepted as the mark of compliance program excellence. If you have never attended the Forum, it is unquestionably the compliance education event of the year. Unlike programs in which you are surrounded by hyperventilating vendors, the Forum allows you to look at what others are doing successfully in their programs. Awards are open to any compliance program practice provided that the practice has been implemented for at least six months. Many of the past best practices recognized at the Forum have become subsequently standard practice in healthcare compliance. Award recipients are selected by the Health Ethics Trust Best Practices Committee, an independent committee of experienced compliance professionals.

TESTIMONIALS "Best Practices has been the source of real world solutions and strategies for CCOs and compliance professionals for more than a decade; the peer to peer process to identify what are truly best practices is unique in the industry and the level of sharing is without equal in healthcare." "This is by far one of the best conferences available to compliance professionals. You'll come away with great ideas to implement at your organization, and develop relationships that will last long after the conference is over." "There are a few not to be missed events and this is one of them. I found this forum invaluable not only for networking and to learn how others are innovating in the field but also for the chance to see how your organization's ethics & compliance program stacks up against others. I encourage everyone to submit their best practice and attend."

SPECIAL GRADUATE LEVEL OPPORTUNITY

The Trust is continuing its series of graduate level courses open only to experienced compliance professionals. The next graduate level program is the one day Compliance Program Assessors Course to be offered following the Best Practices Forum (October 23). The Health Ethics Trust is the leading provider of compliance program assessments. This course teaches our widely adopted compliance program assessment methodology. Graduates of the Compliance Assessor's Course are also eligible to participate in our peer review process leading to Compliance Program Certification. Qualified Assessors may participate in the panels that review organizations' compliance programs to determine the extent to which they meet Program Certification standards. For more information on this limited enrollment course, visit www.healthethicstrust.com/assessorscourse or call us at 703-683-7916.

BEST PRACTICE NOMINATIONS

An independent Review Board of experienced health care compliance professionals and content experts judge nominations on how well they meet broad criteria for best practices and where applicable, how well they meet specific criteria. Simply put, award winners will have demonstrated that their practice is equal to the best practice implemented in any organization with respect to a particular compliance program area. Information about the nomination process and criteria are available at www.bestcompliancepractices.com or by calling HET directly at 703-683-7916. We believe that the Best Compliance Practice Awards are the highest level of recognition for compliance program accomplishments. All 2013 Award Winners will present their Best Practices at the Forum.

CLASS OF 2013 CERTIFIED COMPLIANCE PROFESSIONALS & EXECUTIVES A special award ceremony will be held for all compliance professionals who have achieved CCP or CCE certification or recertification in 2013. If you received either designation in prior years but could not attend the Forum, you can also be recognized at this year’s Forum.
