WHAT IS DANTZAZ? Dantzaz is a platform for young professionals in the world of dance, centered in Basque Country and encompassing Europe; bringing together dancers from all corners of the world to offer them:
• Permanent training and daily coaching, in order to prepare them for their future professional work in the performing arts.
Stage performance Choreography Production Management and funding Education and community Risks at work and accident prevention Traditional dances Other arts: circus, theatre, television...
• Working in the “Dantzaz Konpainia” professional company, on top of the training, provides: • Work with internationally-renowned choreographers • Their first professional experience as dancers (rehearsals, tours, etc.)
• Assessment and motivation. We aim for our dancers to obtain work in many other professional companies in Europe and around the world. To do this, we inform and encourage them to go to a wide variety of auditions, assiting them to improve their profesionnal profile and CV, making it as easy as possible for them to attend these opportunities. In addition, to give more opportunity for young Basque dancers, we have created an “excellence unit” known as “MUGI”. This is intended uniquely for Basque dancers over 16 years old, in order to provide them an easier path into our platform company and on to the professional world. Dantzaz Elkartea also works on raising creative awareness in education with emphasis on the province of Gipuzkoa, through giving workshops and specific side projects in schools. Next to this, Dantzaz aims to open up the world of dance to new audiences, as well as raising support for upcoming choreographers.
