AAA House Manager was established in 2018 as a new service of AAA, the company that has provided roadside assistance, home insurance and travel services for more than 100 years. It’s a membership-based service designed to help make home ownership easier every day.
Included in the membership are two visits a year by a House Manager who provides a plan for preventative home maintenance, home repairs, and improvements. As issues pop up throughout the year or the homeowner adds to their to-do list, AAA House Manager serves as a single point of contact to get the work done.
AAA House Manager brings the same trusted service and care for Members from the road to your home. Each House Manager has years of experience in the home maintenance and improvement industry, and is a full time employee of AAA. The three who primarily serve the Danville area are Darwin Ovejas, Robert Lara and Matthew Preble, all hardworking fathers who grew up taking things apart and putting them back together.
said Preble. “Usually when I first arrive, they’re a bit anxious because they’re opening up their home to a stranger, essentially. But then I get to see them go through a transition of gaining trust as I take care of problems in their house. It’s very rewarding.”
“There really is no typical day for our House Managers,” said Lauren Parker, Product Marketing Director for AAA House Manager. “They may spend a couple hours in the morning at a new member’s home doing an initial assessment, followed by a service visit in the afternoon. And in one visit they may do something as small as patching a chip in a sink, to fixing a malfunctioning HVAC system. Every home has a unique set of issues. It’s our job to address the issues and tasks that homeowners don’t think about so that your home continues to run smoothly for a long time.”
AAA House Manager is currently available in Contra Costa and Alameda counties, but has plans to expand next year. Looking to the future, AAA is fascinated by what home ownership will look like and how the needs of homeowners will change over the next 100 years.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to be part of it,” adds Parker.
