'Tis the Season

'Tis the season to be jolly and while your pets love holiday cheer, there are a few things to be cautious of. Cats love holiday ribbons and shimmering tinsels, but if eaten, these can cause some major problems for your furry friend. Never leave your pet unsupervised near your tree and be sure it’s properly secured. Unstable trees can fall and injure your pet and ingestion of pine needles or tree water can cause major health issues.

Other holiday plants to be cautious of include holly, mistletoe, poinsettias, and lilies as these are toxic to your pet.

For the perfect holiday treat give your pet a new pet treat rather than leftovers and as always, keep all sweets, such as chocolates, and any unattended alcoholic beverages away from your pet. Healthy pets ensure a happy holiday but if you think your pet may have ingested something, seek medical attention immediately.
