You will have a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and grand mountains from an altitude of 8000 feet. Take the double-wired sky gondola for a breath-taking view of the volcanic Hakone Mountains, arriving at Owakudani Valley (the Valley of Hell). You will also have the chance to try an Onsen Tamago (an egg boiled in hot spring water). Next, take a boat ride on the peaceful Lake Ashi. Giant Pandas at Chendu Today, visit the famous Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, including a protected wilderness and breeding area. The panda has become one of the most adored animals in China and is noted as the cute and memorable mascot for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). You will explore the grounds with a chance to see some of the animals up close and learn more about this region’s endangered species. Later we will visit Sanxindui Museum, home to many significant cultural relics unique to Chengdu and the local bamboo park. Overnight hotel stay.

Today we journey to Mao County. Visit Huanglong, meaning ‘yellow dragon’, famous for its outstanding calcium carbonate formations. Leshan Buddha Enjoy a visit to one of the most spectacular and memorable sights of Sichuan – the Grand Buddha of Leshan. See the tallest Buddha statue in the world sitting on the mountainside. Local history tells us that the river here was once treacherous with a whirlpool that overturned so many boats and drowned so many fishermen that they suspected a demon lurked under the water where the rivers met. The locals carved an enormous statue of Buddha at this point on the river, to pray to him to placate the whirlpool below. Continue to Mt. Emei, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the four sacred Buddhist Mountains in China. Overnight hotel stay.

This half day tour takes you to visit the Heian Jingu Shrine, which is a magnificent structure strongly influenced by Chinese architecture. Then it’s on to Sanjusangenado Temple with its 1,001 impressive images of Buddha. As a last stop you will have the opportunity to see the Kiyomizu Temple, which is noted for its distinctive wooden veranda.
In Kyoto, your first visit will be Nijo Castle, Tokugawa Shogun’s Family Palace, famous for the contrast of its solemn appearance and gorgeous interiors.Then you will visit Kinkakuji Temple, one of the sacred sites of Japan.
