Sailing daily from Bergen up through the Arctic Circle to Kirkenes and back, the fleet of modestly-sized ships are capable of getting much closer to the coastline and communities living at the 34 different ports which are visited. With the smaller size comes a more intimate experience and unique opportunity to get an authentic glimpse into Norwegian culture. The ships are also working ships providing a lifeline of access to the more remote towns and villages of Norway. Each of the ships arrivals in port are celebrated amongst the locals, and mean the delivery of valuable goods or items. Each ship carries post and vehicles between ports, with some local Norwegians even using the ships to travel up and down the west coast of Norway to visit friends and family.
