A few things to consider after getting engaged: I guess that’s when you found me. If you have not done the steps above, I encourage you to do so. Weddings can be not only exhausting but very costly, especially if not well planned. So my goal is to make sure that you’re well informed when picking a photographer, because we will spend a great deal of time building your memories… so think of a relationship that will go beyond paying for a service and being finished. Actually, your photos will be the greatest assets left of your wedding day.

Only two packages are offered and they consist of 6 and 8 hours of wedding coverage. You do have the option to make your own collection by purchasing services and products Ă la carte as well. WHAT IS YOUR EDITING STYLE?
Natural. Light in photography is everything and my obsession for good lighting will be translated into your images. Some situations will not allow for good lighting and I might have to manipulate that light after using software, but rest assured that one of the reasons professional photographers invest in good equipment is precisely because of the ability to bring light back to your images.

QUESTIONS TO ASK What is your average turnaround time on images?
Nobody wants to wait too long to see their wedding images, however it is a long process that takes me 6 to 8 weeks to complete on a normal season. High season can take me longer than that but I had never made any client wait longer than 60 days. Engagements, 2 to 3 weeks. What equipment do you use?
I use Canon 5D mark iii, Mark ii as a backup body, prime lenses ranging from wide all the way to tele lenses. Professional and reliable equipment is a must for any wedding photographer. When and how do clients book you?
Weddings require time to plan. On average clients book my services 6-12 months in advance. To make things official my clients sign a contract and pay a 30% non refundable retainer fee to reserve their date. Do you have a wedding contract?
Absolutely! Contracts are essential and an important part of our process. It is where we put everything in writing and make sure both couple and photographer have accountability. How many weddings do you photograph a year?
I photograph an average of 12 to 14 weddings a year. I do not exceed this number for personal and professional reasons. On the personal level, I do like reserving free weekends to spend time with my family, and professionally because I do like reserving my undivided attention to my brides.

THINGS I WISHED MY BRIDES KNEW
WEDDING PLANNER. DO I NEED ONE? - Nobody needs one unless you really know what you’re getting yourself into. You are the bride, you are getting married… there are things you should consider simply delegating to professionals who have travelled that road. Most venues offer a wedding coordinator but that’s for the day of the event, not the planning itself. It can be very costly to add this expense to your budget but it makes a world of difference to have one. LIGHT MATTERS - The most important component of photography is light. It dictates the mood of your images. It can make a difference between a fresh, gorgeous image and dull, dark ones. When planning your wedding, consider the light. The more natural light, the better. COMMUNICATE - Do not expect your photographer to know your guests, who is most important to you, or details that are significant. Tell your photographer about little DIY projects, sentimental items, and important people so nothing and no one is left out of your photographs. DETAILS MATTER - The details of your wedding (invitations, dress, shoes, jewelry, florals, letters, etc.) are what make your wedding unique and different. They are the things that you spent hours and hours working on, deciding on, and paying for! Let’s make sure you have that all together for your photographer when the time comes! PINTEREST IS GREAT, BUT… - We are all madly in love with Pinterest! It is a great platform for ideas and inspiration but I do urge all my brides to break away from copying ideas and instead make your own come to life. Everything is different when it come to you: you environment, your skin, the light, the details… Let’s make it unique, as you!

Final thoughts Allocating time for your photography is essential to having good quality images of your wedding day. I do encourage my brides to look for the best and yet the most affordable services offered out there, however I do insist in being very thoughtful when it comes to photography. Photographs are the only things left of your wedding day. Make it meaningful.
