Earl and Countess of Wessex visit UTech By Darien Robertson Staff Reporter

The royal couple then went on to meet freshmen from the School of Dental Sciences, and decided to speak to surrounding students, conversing with them pleasantly, before returning to their motorcade and leaving the campus at approximately 4:00 pm. Upon asking Professor Morrison his thoughts on their visit, he remarked that Prince Edward and the Countess were incredibly “down to earth” and ready to meet and greet with students and staff. “They sort of stepped outside of the programme… and we decided to go along with it,” said Morrison. “Even with the stepping out of line, there was a certain degree of precision. They were very open, easy and were very much in touch with our language and acadaemia concept.” Morrison stated that he felt the visit went incredibly well, and was proud of the impression the university left on them.
is Royal Highness, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex and Her Royal Highness, the Countess of Wessex visited the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) on Monday, March 3, 2014. They did so as a part of a four-day working visit to jamaica from March 2 to March 5.

Following this, Prince Edward and the Countess, surrounded by their entourage, made their way to UTech’s front field to meet with the coaches and student athletes for badminton, cricket, rugby (with the Prince stating that he was happy to learn that UTech participated in this sport) and table tennis.
