About Me

HI, My name is Annemiek Louise Jongste, but I go by Miek. I’m a student at Da Vinci College, Dordrecht and I’ll be mayoring in Art and Design.

At my previous internship I made christmas cards for companies and I can’t say that was truly my thing, but none the less I learned a lot about myself and my attitude in the buisnes world.

I was born 20 years ago, 4th of july 1994 to be exact, in a town called Maassluis, but now I’m living in Sliedrecht.

I also learned a lot about Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

Somewhere along the lines I spend some time abroad and I can now say English is my second language. If you’d ask me to describe myself in 3 words then these come to mind: “Sweet Creative and Loyal.“ and a little crazy.

And now I want to develop myself in the art department, mainly character design and animation and I hope to continue at an art academy when I’m done with my current education.

Mad Hatter Cat

A personal piece in which I tried challenging myself by drawing something out of my comfort zone. A cat. A humanized cat though. I had just watched Alice in wonderland again and felt like it’d be intresting to mix up the cheshire cat and the mad hatter. Which resulted in a mad hatter cat. I started by finelining this piece with a 0,5 liner and a 0,8 liner and I colored this piece with copic markers on aquarel paper. The piece is a little smaller then A4.

After I went to the pixar expo I got quite inspired seeing some of the designs for boo. One spoke to me mainly and I figured Id try drawing that but a little more grown up. Quite a quick sketch done in Sketchbook Express with the copic function and smudge tools.

Tron Bonne Boo grown up A person requested me to draw Tron Bonne from the mega man series with a snake tail. This is a digital piece, first I sketched it out in Sketchbook Pro and then I did the lineart there. The coloring was done in Photoshop.

An attempt at realism

The girl in the picture is a friend of mine who’s done some modeling work. She asked me to draw her for her facebook and so I did. Was quite a fun but difficult task, at first I wanted to do it realistic in the end I sort of mixed it with my own style. This piece was done in Sketchbook pro and fixed a little bit in Photoshop.

Shark and Shy Monster

Things I absolutely love drawing are these sweet round type of monsters and sharks. No matter how badly my art block might be these creatures are easy to draw and get me inrpired again. These are just some quick doodles done in Sketchbook Pro. Some works from my sketchbook.

Romy Granny

We call one of my friends granny and she asked me to draw her. This being the result. Done with fine liner and copic markers.

Bunny and Penguin Fymo Clay Plushies

Beauty After The Storm

Stencil work. Started out making a design in photoshop then used a beamer to trace it and used knifes to cut it out of cardboard. Made the rainbow background with spraypaint and added the design.

Snail & sketchbook works

The snail on the page left is one of my favorite things to draw. This was done on a panel with acryllic paint. And some more sketches out of my sketchbook.
