Five Nations Head To Isles For Ceos Golf Tour

FIVE countries have already confirmed participation at the CEOs (Chief Executives Officers) 2022 Luxury Retreat Golf tournament in Zanzibar this year.

The manager told the ‘Dar Life’ from Zanzibar that everything is in place ahead of the event’s tee off.

He said that over 33 golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Botswana and Tanzania have already confirmed participation by on Thursday.

“We are happy that preparation is going on very well, so far we have 33 golfers who have already confirmed, which is an indication of a good response,” he said.

Among them, according to Soka, 24 are ladies. Among notable golfers in the list include the Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Damas Ndumbaro and Ammon Mwanyuma from Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

Also in the list are Christine Gikandi, Mpho Tenyane, Nelisiwe Mathabela, Nokuthula Dlamini, Ntsoaki Tshivhase, Sophie Njanjera, Wanjiku Munene, Widzani Moarabi, Zaituni Mohamed, Thandiwe Nhlapo,Taboka masalila, Ismail Gulamali, Imani Alfayo, Michael Ngobeni, Archiebald Masimega, Osborn Karuva and Kgotla Sebolai.

The prestigious tournament organised by Sea Cliff Resort and Spa Golf Club of Zanzibar is scheduled to tee off on September 3rd this year at the World Best 9 golf course located near Indian Ocean. It is the 180-hole competition that brings together CEOs, diplomats and other golfers from African countries and beyond, according to the club’s manager Elias Soka.

Soka stressed said the registration is still open and he called on those wishing to participate to confirm through online registration.

According to Soka the registration is open until August 31st this year.

He said the door is also still open for those wishing to join the sponsors’ list as well. Soka added that 50 US dollars is set as an entry fee that will include golf cart, half way lunch, gala dinner, practice access, soft drink and golf goodies bag.

South African golfer Kyle Veitch who won the last event with 5-under stable ford points, is the event’s defending champion.

However, Soka also urged Tanzanians to vote for the Sea Cliff Resort & Spa golf that has been nominated for the World Golf Awards 2022 via World Golf Awards website.
