TANZFOOD 2022 will be a new international B2B and Consumer Trade Fair for the Tanzania Food & Agriculture industry. ROVOS RAIL: EAST TO WEST JOURNEY IN AFRICA

ZANZIBAR FOR BEGINNERS – A CRAZY LOVE STORY

The recently published book, Zanzibar for Beginners – a crazy Love story” talks about the challenges of a bicultural relationship. Sofie, a German woman in her best age, travels to Zanzibar to visit a friend and to attend the legendary Busara-Festival in Stonetown. In a nightclub she meets Seif, a young Tanzanian musician. What starts as a pleasant conversation with mutual understanding soon and against all reason turns into a passionate love affair. The book reflects differences in values and mindsets between African and European culture. Even though it is not a travel guide - as the first part of the title may suggest - it mentions a lot of places to see in Dar, Bagamoyo and Zanzibar and thus can give tourists good information about Zanzibarian lifestyle while reading an exciting novel. The author, Catharina Aanderud, has been living in Zanzibar on and off since 2018. The island inspired her to write this book. After many non-fiction books and biographies this is her second novel.
