The Home Gym Marathon 2021

The home gym marathon was held on 18th September, 2021 in commemoration of the 23rd anniversary of the Home Gym Sports Centre which is situated in Mwenge, Dar-es-Salaam. The centre organized a major sports festival involving various sports including running, gymnastics and children's sports.

Speaking during the festival, a representative from the “Lipa kwa Simu” unit Mr. Shamsi Zuberi said the main goal is to encourage people and various stakeholders to build the habit physical and mental health but also, as a way to pressure, diabetes but also the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also, Mr. Shamsi added that, through the “Lipa kwa Simu” service by Vodacom, about 1000 participants were able to make their payments through the service, and even those from other networks were able to enjoy the service more easily and securely. He went on further by stressing that the 10% discount on monthly Gym membership fees is still ongoing, and will involve different Gyms in mainland Tanzania and even those in the islands of Zanzibar.

The CEO of Home Gym Mwenge, Mr. Andrew Mangomango said that every year he has been bringing together various stakeholders in the sports industry in the belief that sports is a source of good health and welfare in the society, hence it makes the community happier. He added that this year, the festival had been further enhanced by the addition of the 5 km, 10 km, and 30km bicycle race where participants were presented with T-shirts and medals.

The Director of Home Gym also thanked all stakeholders and sponsors who made this event a success, including African Power Machinery, Communications Park, Msouth Company LTD, Maznat Co. LTD, Inspire, Weispa, Mengelo Oil, Swahili Sweat Shop, St. Mary’s Schools along with Vodacom through the “Lipa kwa Simu” unit.
