EPTV trusts MediaKind for upgrading IP video edge

EPTV, a TV Globo affiliated company, implements MediaKind encoding and edge processing solutions in order to complete its network solution for IP content contribution and distribution, improving operational flexibility and reducing costs; the MediaKind solution is expected to provide a low latency and boosted reliability, also. This EPTV implementation is able to meet all video standards and requirements, even future ones.

MediaKind, a global company specialized in video technology and streaming video service enablement, announces selection by EPTV, a TV Globo affiliate and Brazilian network, to replace its microwave network solution with IP/SRT transmission protocols. EPTV will deploy MediaKind edge video processing solutions to deliver better quality, security, and reliability for video contribution and distribution across the open Internet at a reduced cost.

As the number of broadcasters adopting IP transmission increases, the MediaKind solution promises to enhance EPTV’s return on investment by providing superior performance at a highly cost-effective operational price point. MediaKind’s edge processing portfolio includes high-quality decoding, encoding, transcoding, content replacement, content protection, and more reliable transport of critical television content, enabling live cloud workflows to be adopted.

The deployment of MediaKind’s CE1 Contribution Encoder and RX1 multi-codec, multi-service Professional Receiver Decoder solution enables EPTV to deploy two-way codecs integrated at all its stations. This will ensure added security and peace of mind with the IP/SRT protocol delivering high-quality video performance, 4:2:2 HEVC compression, and very low latency, all within a platform that integrates an IP/SRT gateway.

The project includes a 5-year warranty agreement with technical support in Brazil provided by both Avicom and MediaKind. Support services for the project will be provided by MediaKind’s business partner, Avicom Engenharia.
