Premières Côtes de Bordeaux Château Peneau Grapes: 60% Merlot 30% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Malbec Location: Situated in the commune of Haux Surface: 13 Ha Soil: Gravelly and limestone on the slops

Vinification: The grapes are carefully sorted and de-stalked before being pressed gently to extract the juice. The juice then undergoes a traditional wine making. The juice is left to ferment ceramic lined tanks for a period of up to 28 days in order that the maximum amount of tannins and colour is extracted from the grapes. After the second “malolactic” fermentation the whole of the production is put in to ageing vats where the wine matures and develops for approximately 18 months before being fined and filtered and bottled at the château. Tasting: Lovely Bordeaux, a pretty ruby colour, bouquet of red fruit underlined by vanilla, cedar wood and spices extracted from the oak. On the palate the wine is fresh and bursting with fruits, a well balanced and a good length. Serving suggestions: This wine is excellent with both red and white meats, game and cheese. We suggest that the wine be drunk at an ambient temperature of 16° to 18°C after being opened for an hour or so.
