ABOUT ME

O R P FIL E E IL
Hello Hi! I am Darrell Boye, 29 years old, born in Camberwell but also known as the Ghanaian egg. Where did it all start? Well I began my love or journey I should say in graphic design from the ages of 14-15. I sketched out designs for a clothing line I wanted to start. I was doing everything from logos, flyers and artwork for my website. As my passion grew and I displayed my work to others, I began receiving requests from friends and family and the journey has continued on. When I get time away from designing. I am designing ha. No but in my spare time I am always conjuring up a business idea, working on my health at the gym, socializing with friends and family Or helping a friend with some sort of problem. I am all about helping those in need and one day I’d like to be able to change the state of homelessness not just in the UK but all over the world. I would love to work with a company that shares similar values. Creativity is a passion, I am adaptable and I would like to expand my skill range and experiences.

ALBUM ARTWORK DB.AR T IX
DARKOO SPR WMN This piece was inspired by two elements; ‘women empowerment’ and ‘superhero’s’. Women are powerful and the narrative of the superhero mainly being a man must change. The image was taken from Darkoo’s single ‘Kryptonite’. Taking the original image I added smoke textures, mist, a Super S on her chest and added extras to make her the super hero she is.

ABRA CADABRA STREET FLAME Abra Cadabra has been making waves throughout his career and one thing he does, is keep up his level of consistency and quality control. He has paved ways for him and his peers and has entered spaces he may not have thought he would. He still has his ear to the streets and has a hold on the ears of many.
M24 BLOWING SMOKE Really enjoyed making this piece, from the colours to the composition, to the creation of the O’s and the lighting. This M24 artwork was a very striking image and works well to portray his gritty persona.
SHAYBO G.O.A.T Shaybo, the queen of south, as she like to state. She is a great rapper and I say rapper because her wordplay and musical ability can match most of the men in the industry. This piece was meant to portray her fierce character and emphasise her elite nature. The vibrant colours blend well with the anamorphic lighting and compliment her ‘kill bill’ like outfit. The artwork gives off a very contemporary but at the same time nostalgic feel.
TEEZANDOS SLENDER Teezandos is in her infancy of her career but I have high hopes for her. I really do love her rapping flow. This art piece was meant to encapture the feel of being in a ‘T’ house(a dwelling where narcotics are sold from). The grungy textures, glass scratched lines, dark lighting and water mark stains help create this atmosphere.
FREDO’S SECOND HOME If you know who Fredo is, then you appreciate real UK rap. I have followed his rap career from his early ages. He has a strong ability to mix wordplay and realness all in one breath. A very talented idividual. His social presence can not be denied and his effortless sense of humour is second to none. He is a frequent visitor or was a visitor of the popular Harrods store. This was the inspo for this design and in relation to his name, I have added the Fredo chocolate symbol to add a small chuckle. The typography of ‘Fredo’ is red and strong to relate to his personal branding of ‘PG’. The ‘Harrods’ dropped in gold just emphasises his love for the finer things in life.
TEEZANDOS PROMISED ANGEL This piece has to be one of my favourites. Just aesthetically pleasing to the eye in my opinion and a real stand out piece of work. The blend of similar colours you’d think would not work but they gel together nicely. It’s like an Angel dressed in modern day materials with the light of the lord shining down. The mist of the smoke helps disguise the modern day materials. The Halo is a very classic symbolism of an angel and the contrast between the light and dark I really liked.
MOSTACK MO DALLY Mostack is definitely one of my favourite artist and someone who I think is underrated! I have listened to his music for many years and can truly say he hasn’t let me down or the UK. He’s on a steady run and in his own lane. He is very confident in himself and you can see it in his lyrics and the way he carries himself on video. This piece here was inspired by winter and could more be seen as a mixtape cover instead but could work either way depending on how you look at it.

BRANDING DB.AR T IX
LENGS LENGS is a brand which is very close to home. This business was an idea meant for a woman very dear to me and a business which I felt would be great for all Ghanaians and African catering in the UK. The brand was very earthy and vibrant. The design of the logo and brand was inspired by three things; Ghana, Ankara symbols and snacks. The designs are eye catching, easy to read and made to make the LENGS brand more memorable and noticeable.

W.F.A THE WFA was a project done for a friend. She has been working with kids and within the sports and fitness industry for a longtime now. When she came to me on behalf of the football academy and asked me to help, I couldn’t turn her down. She wanted a logo that resembled a professional, but local football team that came from the lewisham borough. The colors match the borough of Lewisham logo, and the shape of the crest matched what she wanted.

MINGO PURE WATER Mingo Water was a concept design for a water company. The idea, is that the water is pure and like no other. Flamingos are strong flyers and decent swimmers. They take flight and tread through water with somewhat ease. The faded blue is to represent its purity and the bottle shape is not like any typical water bottle. This is to enforce its uniqueness.
AUXIGEN Auxigen is a barbershop outside london. It’s one that is in its infancy but on the rise. I used to frequent the shop on the regular. My barber let me know he wanted to revamp the business logo and wanted me to work on it. I was given creative control and this is what I transformed the old one to. I felt like it really captured the brands identity and it would really stand out and give the feel of an elite establishment.

Halo Globe Angel was a mock up for a skateboarding company. The whole design was made from scratch and I really wanted to go for the whole edgy, skater and bay area vibe. The crest was circular and had different elements attached to it to form the logo. I kept the colors bright and vibrant so ut would stand out to the masses.
P&M CREAMS P&M Creams is a business that specializes in all natural body and hand cream. The company gets its ingredients from Ghana and all ingredients are all natural. They wanted me to create a logo that would be clean, speak that it’s a lotion and have an earthy vibe.

AU NATUREL SAVOR Au Naturel Savor was a friends business. She wanted to start her own toiletry company after experimenting with a few of her own recipes. Me and her worked closely to get to her final logo. She wanted a brand logo that was encapsulated ethically diverse products. Eventually we went for a logo that appealed to the masses, was very natural and easy on the eye.

THE SPINE ROOM The Spine Room is a business run by my friend. Osteopathy, as you may know is the practice of looking after a persons well being, specifically their bones, muscles and ligaments. This was a big factor when creating her logo. We decided to go for a human spine and skull. She wanted to blend these elements with something soft, so I attached a flower arrangement and then finally the border and text. It was a pleasure going through the different stages and seeing the evolution of the logo.
MY HEALING KIT The client for My Healing Kit, wanted me to take her sketch, digitize it and re do the lines and certain shapes. She wanted a powerful logo for her brand. Gold was the main theme and her artistic shapes and elements in the sketch to really pop out.

HOUSE OF JP
HOUSE OF
House of JP is a brand and a lifestyle. This logo was undertaken for a personal and experienced chef. She wanted to revamp her previous logo and start a fresh. The client wanted to have something minimalistic, easy to read, sharp and clean. The logo is very simplistic but effective. This has been achieved by its composition, colour way and text. The client loved it.

NAOI TATTOOS Naoi Tattoos(known as Hernaissance inks), a independent and home grown tattoo business created by friend. She started this business from her early ages and has really grown into something amazing. The criteria for this logo was to create something that had pop colours, vibrant & colourful and spoke to people that it’s a one woman operation. Progression of the logo was quick and very smooth. It truly was a great experience.

BILLBOARD ADVERTS DB.AR T IX
AUDI DUST 2 DAWN It has been a dream to create an advertisement for a popular car brand. Audi being one of my favourite makes, I decided to go for them. I wanted to encapture. Striking image, show the contrast between day and night bad add lighting to the car to emphasize the motion.
BVLGARI Bvlgari is a high end jewelry brand that was founded in Rome. I came across the brand when working in Harrods and I really loved the mechanism and constriction of their jewelry and specifically their rings. The was they intertwined and the vibrancy of their colours complemented each other very well.
JHUS THE COME BACK Jhus is undeniably one of the greatest artist to come out of the UK. He took a recent break in the music, but in the grape vine it’s been said he is about to emerge with a project. This piece I created was art to commend him on his work in the industry and let the public know he is coming. I worked a lot with opacity levels and composition of the lettering and blending was key.

FLYERS DB.AR T IX
JERSEY DAY FUNCTION Jersey Day function was a personal project for me and a friend who wanted to get into events. The idea came around when lockdown started to ease up and we wanted to do something that aligned with our likes and career paths. He is a DJ and I am a creative. When it came to the flyer we wanted something that would be eye catching, vibrant, clear and enticing overall.
JUICE & PARTY Juice & Party was again a personal project with a friend of mine. Me and this individual have thrown functions together before so we wanted to upscale things and take it into a venue. The theme for the function was theme park x cookout. I believe this is portrayed in the flyer and can be seen in the elements that I have included.
FRANTIC ENTS. This flyer was for the grand opening of a event business ran by some uni students I met. They wanted something explosive, full of colour, slick, bright and detailed. I executed this with motion flares, Gaussian blurs, light smoke features and subtle touches like the curtains for the unveiling of their first event.
A.A.T.L A.A.T.L specialize in adult entertainment. The aim for the flyer was to make it raunchy, straight to the point and aesthetically pleasing. The flyer speaks for its self and is very striking. Me and the client still work today and she was very pleased with the outcome.
MOSTACK I wanted to create a tour flyer for MOSTACK just to see what it would look like. The theme I went for was dark, dingy and gritty. The design of the flyer was to keep the focus on the key information such as the name of the tour and tour date.

MAGAZINE COVERS DB.AR T IX
EDGE UNITED I think as a creative, I’ve always liked the thought of having my work on some sort of publication. I figured why not try and create magazine covers. I picked three artists that I felt had a big impact on the scene, young people with ambition and faces that could influence the minds of many youths and adults that look alike or come from the same place.
THE CUT Stormzy made such an impact in 2017, but most importantly, he made an impact on so many youths. He made it a reality that people that came from the same areas and of the same demographic can really achieve what they want and enter spaces they never thought they could. I wanted to design something that was classy, slick and showed stormzy’s excellence and growth.
WOMENS QUARTER Women’s Quarter was to be a magazine that inspires women of a ethnic background. Women and young girls groaning up need a inspiration and need a figure that wil channe their inner goodness and give them a sense of hope. I picked Ms Banks because she has a lot of these qualities. The photo used is a striking one and gives a sense of power, beauty and authority all in one. In addition to this I used a subtle blend of colours and lighting to emphasize and heighten the atmosphere it’s giving.
