WELCOME TO AUTUMN AT TRINITY Welcome to our Autumn Season which is packed with a wide variety of events and activities – the high point being our Christmas show, the legendary musical Oliver!. Having previously produced our own Christmas shows, we now have ambitions to create more work ourselves and to collaborate with, and support, others. You will see the term ‘Trinity Productions’ used for the first in this brochure indicating professional productions that are supported by us here at Trinity. I am excited that we have launched our Associate Artist scheme. The first artist we are supporting is Francesca Murray-Fuentes and her production of Princess and the Pea. The other Associate Artist at the moment is illustrator Matt Syms whose images can be seen in the artwork for this show and Oliver!.

John Martin Artistic Director

One of our aims is to make Trinity more accessible to young people and I am delighted that this season we are introducing children’s prices across most of our performances and screenings to further that ambition. Finally a request for your support – we are facing continuing reductions in our core funding and if you would like to see us to continue to grow and develop, please consider making a donation or joining our Friends Plus scheme. As ever I appreciate you feedback – please email me on john@trinitytheatre.net

Trinity Theatre greatly appreciates funding received from Tunbridge Wells Borough Council

With this season’s Foundation Showcase exploring hidden voices and talented artists within our communities, you are in for a treat in the gallery whenever you visit. jane.visualarts@gmail.com

Jessica Exall

Beasties and Species Tue 11 Aug – Sat 5 Sep Jessica Exall’s work is about bringing out the beauty and uniqueness in living things that others may not consider beautiful. Her interest in nature can be seen throughout her work as she enjoys finding the bizarre and strange in wildlife. Her passion for narrative can be seen in her puppets, which take influence from the quirky English heritage to the current subculture of today. Merging past with future, she creates vivid characters full of individuality and diversity. www.jeexall.tumblr.com Opening launch event: Sat15 Aug | 5-7pm

Mike Ellis

Flawed Beauty Tue 8 Sep – Sat 3 Oct Mike Ellis brings us a series of paintings that seek to find the beauty in the everyday, while exploring the effects of time and place. His work is underpinned by the three beliefs that nothing lasts; nothing is finished; and nothing is perfect. Mike’s aim is to question our modern view of perfection. www.mikeellisart.com Opening launch event: Thu 10 Sep | 5.30-7.30pm

Town And Country Foundation Showcase Finding One And Another Thu 8 Oct – Sat 14 Nov

This Showcase explores work around the theme of ‘hidden voices’ by groups including Mindwell and Tunbridge Wells Muslim Women’s Forum. It highlights the positive work of these groups in the local community and the ways in which peer-topeer support can reduce the negative impact of loneliness, offer encouragement, reduce social isolation and importantly challenge misconceptions. The exhibition explores ideas of where ‘self’ is both different and similar to others and allows us to celebrate a deeper understanding of one and another. Opening launch event: Fri 9 Oct | 4-7pm

Francis McQueen Heartwork Tue 17 Nov – Sat 5 Dec

Francis is curious about human nature and is eager to know what gives meaning to our life. His work explores creativity and the inner world, with each painting expressing the unconscious as it moves from the inner world into outward form. Expressing ourselves as creators is a way to reconnect with our life journey, which Francis identifies as a path towards authenticity and congruence, a process defined by Jung as the “individuation” process.
